The Texas Lynching.
A lynching occurred in Hemp
stead Texas, last week, which was
without the semblance of an ex
cuse. The mob went into the
court room, took two negroes from
the officers ol the law and hanged
them in the public square of tbe
town after they had been tried,
convicted and sentenced to be
hanged. The judge had refused to
allow them the thirty days of
grace under the law and the exe
cution would have been immedi
ately. But that mob could not
wait, but took the law in its own
hands and outraged all legal sanc
tity.—Columbus Enquirer.
