The Seniors of Brenau made a
trip to Dahlonega on Monday and
Tuesday of this week. They were
chaperoned by Miss Overton and
Miss Hollingsworth. They return

Mr. F. J. Harnett and family, who
have been spending* some time at Mr.
J. W. Large’s at Gower Springs, have
returned home greatly benefitted by

The Woodmen of the World will un
veil a monument, recently erected to
the memory of the late S. R. Talley, at

church last Sunday morning. There
was no service in the evening.

bill will be introduced in the present
legislature of Georgia, entitled an act
to amend the several acts incorporat
ing* the citv of Gainesville, as well as
the acts amendatory thereof and to re-
incorporate the City of Gainesville as
the City of Gainesville ana to grant a
new charter to the City of Gainesville
to supersede and abrogate all previous
charters of said city and for other pur
poses.

On account of more time being nec
essary for the contractors to figure on
the plans t of the new public school
building, the contract for the same will
not be let tomorrow, as previonslv an
nounced, but will be awarded at a later
date. Most of the old brick and other
material of the old building has been
sold for the city by Mr. ; John T. Boyd.
We were favored this week in the
way of good eatables by two of onr
good friends. Mr. Nat Smith brought
in specimens of the potatoes he raises,
four of which weighed twelve pounds;
Mr. S. B. Cantrell brought in four tur
nips which also weighed about twelve
pounds. These vegetables show what
Hall eounty hustlers can raise.
I*ee Parnell has takn out his old
bath tubs and has put in new porcelain
tubs. His bath rooms are now up-to-
date in every particular and are as nice
as can be found in any large city.
