Mr. T. H. Sanford, a well known eit
izeu of the county, died very suddenly
at his home near Brown’s bridge Mon
day morning at 8 o’clock. He is sur
vived by his wife. The funeral ser
vices were conducted at Alta Vista
cemetery yesterday afternoon by Rev,
J. A. Wynne. Mr. Sanford was be
tween 70 and 80 years of age.

turn from the state convention in

Mr. R. Smith this week sold the Wof
ford farm consisting of 300 acres, one
and a half miles east of New Holland,
to Mr.„ S, E. Brooks of Banks county,
who will soon move here and start a
fruit and dairy farm.
All parties are hereby notified that a
bill will be introduced in the present
legislature of Georgia, entitled an act
to amend' the several acts incorporat
ing the city of Gainesville, as well as
the acts amendatory thereof and to re-
meorporate the City of Gainesville as
the City of ;Gameuville anu to grant a
new charter to .the. City, of ^Gainesville
to supersede and abrogate all previous
charters of said city and for other pur
poses.
