For Education of Both Races In
The South.
New York, Nov 11—A compre
hensive plan for the* promulga
tion of education among both the
white and negro races was enunci
ated at a dinner given by Robert
C. Ogden to the Southern Educa
tion Board: last night. The* cen
tral idea of the scheme is that en
ergetic efforts will be instituted
in the South at once for the spread
of an educational propaganda
among the people of that section.
The purpose will be to interest the
Southern people of both races in
education, and to instill into the
minds of those not possessing it a
zeal for knowledge.
~ In carrying put the designs of
this new organization, it is plan
ned to expend the sum ot $40,000
annually for two years. The gui
ding hand in all this work is to be
Dr. J. L, M. Curry, the general
agent of the board. Closely asso
ciated with him will be C. W.

Children are especially liable to acute
catarrh. Indeed* most of the affections
of childhood are catarrh. All forms of
sore throat, quinsy, croup, hoarseness,
and laryngitis are hqt different phases
of catarrh.
These affections, in the acnte
form, may pass away without treat
ment, but they leave a foundation
for chronic catarrh in later years. Even
a slight cold is acute catarrh, and ren
ders the mucous membrane of the head
and throat more liable to chronic ca
tarrh afterwards. The child is con
stantly asailed winter and summer, with
catarrh.
Affections of the stomach and bowels^
colic and diarrhoea, are due to ca*
tarrhal derangements of these organs.
A great many families are learning by
bitter experience that these affections
must be promptly treated or the child’s
health is permanently injured.
Peruna is the remedy. No family
should be without it. As soon as the
symptoms of cold, cough or any other
affection of the throat or stomach is
