Home for Lena Mae Aberna
thy, 78, of Gainesville. The
Rev. Mike Grizzle will offici
ate. Interment will follow at
Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive
friends Friday from 3 p.m. to
8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Abernathy passed away
Wednesday, Oct. 31,2018.
A native of Hall County,
Mrs. Abernathy was the
daughter of the late Hubert
L. and Fannie Mae (Alb
ertson) Turner. She was
preceded in death by her
husband, Winfred E. Aber
nathy; daughter, Debra
Clark and several brothers
and sisters.
Survivors include daugh
ters and son law, Sue and
Doug Garrett; son and
daughter in law, Dean and
Susan Sullens; grandchil
dren, Michael Sullens,
Amanda and Jamie Morris,
Dean Garrett, Angela Gar
rett, Stephen Sullens and
Emily Sullens; step grand
children, Michael Campbell,
Melinda and John Hughes
and Rachel Campbell; great
grandchildren, Patricia
Clark, T. J. Clark and Kailee
Misencik; several nieces and
nephews.

Barbara Blanton Allen

Barbara Blanton Allen,
age 75 of Gainesville, passed
away on Thursday, Nov. 1,
2018, surrounded by her
family.
Barbara was born in
Rome, Ga., but lived most of
her life in Gainesville. She
was a member of Gaines
ville First United Methodist
Church.
Barbara was a graduate
of Gainesville High School
and Brenau College. She
was a member of Alpha Chi
Omega Sorority. She retired
from the Department of
Family and Children Ser
vices after 34 years.
She was preceded in
death by her parents Alvin
E. and Sara Wilkes Blanton.
She is survived by her
husband Rudy Allen; son
and daughter-in-law Wil
and Suzanne Owen; daugh
ter and son-in-law Amy and
Clarke Barton; daughter
and son-in-law Melissa and
Chris Hines. Barbara is also
survived by her grandchil
dren, who were so special
to her and brought her so
much joy, Wilder Hines,
Grace Anne Barton, Kate
Barton, Ben Owen and Mer
rill Hines. Also surviving
are her cousins Leslie and
Gejuan Wilkes; brother-in-
law and sister-in-law Phil
lip and Carol Allen; nephew
Tyler Allen.
A Celebration of Life Ser
vice will be held on Sunday,
Nov. 4,2018, at 2 p.m. in the
chapel of Gainesville First
United Methodist Church.
Rev. Scott Hearn will be
officiating. The family will
receive friends following
the service in the Gathering
Room.

30, 1926, in Doylestown,
Pennsylvania, to the late
James Barton and Rose K.
Cotton. He was a member
of McEver Road United
Methodist Church and was
retired from Burroughs as
an Engineer. He is preceded
in death by his parents,
daughter, Paula J. Cotton,
son, Timothy Cotton, and
Jack Cotton, Jr.
Mr. Cotton is survived
by his wife, Livvy Cotton
of Gainesville, son, Mark
Patrick Cotton of Pennsyl
vania, son, Thomas Kevin

FL, daughter, Cheryl Long

Guy Samuel Medlock

Guy Samuel Medlock, age
65, of Lula, Georgia, passed
away on Wednesday, Oct. 31,
2018.
Mr. Medlock was born
on July 31, 1953, in Demor-
est, Ga, to the late Doug and
Polly Wiley Medlock. He
was also preceded in death
by his sister, Beth Martin;
brother, Stacy Medlock;
sister-in-law, Gay Rich; and
best friend, Dobber Pate.
Mr. Medlock retired as
owner and operator of Med
lock Grading Company and
was a member of Clemons
Chapel United Method
ist Church. He loved NAS
CAR, hunting and fishing,
and the outdoors. He found
God later in life and loved
people. If you ever met Guy
one time, you never forgot
him. He had a kind heart
and was a loyal friend to
everyone. Guy was a loving
father, special big brother,
and grandfather.
Survivors include his
loving wife of 46 years,

Lula; daughter and spouse,
Samantha and Amber Med-
lock-Fredericksen of Lin

1968. He served in the US
Navy, and was retired from
General Motors with 30
years of service, where he
was a member of the U. A.W.
Local #10. Ebb was a mem
ber of Ivy Creek Baptist
Church in Buford.
He was a Mason and
a member of the Buford
Lodge #292 F & AM, as well
as the Commandry and
Royal Arch Chapter #48. He
was a Shriner and member
of the YAARAB Temple of
Atlanta, GA, and was also a
member of the Volunteer
Fire Department in Buford,
GA.
Funeral services will
be held on Sunday, Nov. 4,
2018, at 2 p.m. in the Chapel
of Flanigan Funeral Home
in Buford, GA, with Dr. Jim
Ferguson and Rev. Bobby
Brown officiating. Inter
ment will follow at Broad-
lawn Memorial in Buford.
The family will receive
friends on Saturday, Nov. 3
from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. at
the funeral home, and again
on Sunday from 11 a.m. until
time for the service at 2 p.m.
