Bobcats WELCOME Dr. Ashley Hope By: YURITSA BERMUDEZ, BRODY BURKE, MCKENNA BRISCOE, & ADELYN GOUGH This year Sardis has a new assistant principal. Her name is Dr. Ashley Hope. From our inter view with her, we learned many things. This is her first time being an assistant principal and she is really excited about it. Dr. Hope was born in Norman,Oklahoma. Her childhood was amazing. She had a great family and also got to travel a lot. She was involved in many activities and sports while growing up. Some of the sports and activities she grew to love were basketball, track, cross country, tennis, and she even completed a tri athlon. Dr. Hope always knew she wanted to be a teacher and taught for 21 years before coming to Sardis. Most recently before becoming a Bob cat, Dr. Hope worked within the Georgia De partment of Education in the Office of Assess ment. She has taught kindergarten, first grade, third grade and at the college level. She is full of knowledge and willing to share to help teach ers and students be the best they can be. When asked why she chose Sardis Enrich ment School, she responded, "I researched all about Sardis and learned all the amazing stuff that happens here." She decided it was the place for her. She was hooked from the beginning and loves being a Bobcat. Dr. Hope has two children. Her son is a se nior in high school and her daughter is a junior in high school. She loves to run and exercise. Welcome to Sardis, Dr. Hope! We extend the often heard Sardis slogan to her, "Once a Bob cat, Always a Bobcat!" Dr. Ashley Hope, new assistant principal Photo by Shane Rayburn By: KATE ROSALES, BLAKELY BOYD, BETHANY TURPIN, CHEYENNE ARROWOOD You may or may not have heard of the Bobcat 5. If you went to Sardis you definitely have heard of these important rules. They are not only important for school, but they are important for life. You are probably thinking, “What are the rules of the Bobcat 5?" The Bobcat 5 is our school ex- THE BEST OF pectations . They seem simple and they really are; however, you have to be intentional and remember to use them daily to be a successful Bobcat. The Bobcat 5 are: Be Safe. Be Ready to Learn. Be Responsible. Be Caring. Be Respectful to every one and everything. Fourth-grade teacher, Mrs. Beth Johnson, told us that her favor ite rule of the Bobcat 5 is being respectful to everyone and every thing. She stated, The Bobcat 5 THE BOBCAT 5 rules are very important for years beyond elementary." These expec tations create good citizens. Mr. Brad Fussell, a fifth-grade teacher, agreed that being respect ful to everyone and everything is perhaps the one rule that can cover it all in life. He argued that people ought to be respectful and nice to everyone despite any differences. Clearly being a bobcat is very meaningful if one follows the Bobcat 5. Our world could benefit by also fol lowing the Bobcat 5.
