Mother, daughter
killed in wreck
A woman and her daugh
ter died in a head-on collision
that also injured a third person.
News outlets reported that the
wreck happened Tuesday night in
Jones County.
Sheriffs investigator James Sim
mons said Jennifer Hammack of
Milledgeville and her 16-year-old
daughter, Erica Luca, died in the
wreck near the Jones and Baldwin
county line.
Simmons said Hammack and
her daughter were in a vehicle
that was hit by a pickup truck that
crossed the center line. The driver
of the pickup truck was in stable
condition at the Medical Center,
Navicent Health in Macon.
Investigators don’t know why the
pickup crossed the line.

Woman arrested in
stabbing death
News outlets reported 25-year-
old Domonique Collins of Pem
broke was arrested Tuesday and
charged in Sunday’s stabbing death
of 26-year-old Ragee Mincey.
Mincey was taken to a local hospi
tal where he was pronounced dead.
The Georgia Bureau of Investiga
tion helped the Pembroke Police
and determined Collins and Mincey
were living together.Collins is being
held at Bryan County Jail.

Annie was born on Aug.
16,1927, in Gainesville, Ga.,
to the late Dewey Jones
and Thelma Lucille Bell
Jones. She was a member
of Montgomery Memorial
Baptist Church and worked
as a grocery clerk and
interpreter for the deaf.
She is preceded in death by
her parents, and husband,
James Herbert Gravitt.
Ms. Gravitt is survived
by her children, Sherryl
Summer, Lamar Summer,
Rev. David Gravitt, Shir
ley Adams, Daryl Gravitt,
sister, Margaret Sitter,
8 grandchildren and 10
great-grandchildren.

Gainesville passed away
Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018,
at the Northeast Georgia
Medical Center.
A lifelong resident of Hall
County, Ms.
Harbin was
the daugh
ter of the
late James
and Alda
Wheeler
Harbin. She
was retired
from the
Gainesville City School Sys
tem, where she had worked
in the lunchrooms at Candler
Street School, Enota Elemen
tary School and Gainesville
High School. She was a mem
ber of Madison Street Baptist
Church in Commerce. In
addition to her parents, she
was preceded in death by her
sister-in-law, Brenda Harbin
and great-nephew, Jeremy
Wehunt.
Survivors include her
brothers and sisters-in-law;
Harold and Patricia Harbin,
Jefferson; Rev. David Har
bin, Commerce; Bobby and
Ann Harbin, Gainesville;
special friend, Franklin
Vonier, Gainesville. A num
ber of nieces, nephews and
other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be
held at 2 p.m. Saturday,
Nov. 24, 2018, in the cha
pel of Little & Davenport
Funeral Home. The Rev.
Clack Stubbs will officiate.
Interment will follow in the
Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family will receive
friends at the funeral home
Saturday from 1 p.m. until
the funeral hour.

Mrs. Hudgins was born on
Aug. 17, 1929, in Maysville,
Georgia, the daughter of
Rache & Mamie Pittman.
Hazel grew up in Maysville
and later moved to Gaines
ville to begin her family. She
was of the Baptist faith and a
member of Blackshear Place
Baptist.
She was a graduate of
Perry Business College and
worked for Georgia Chair,
Turner, Wood & Smith Insur
ance and then Coronet Car
pets. In her spare time, she
enjoyed shopping and spend
ing time with her sisters,
grandchildren and friends.
She was preceded in death
by her husband, Henry
Edward Hudgins Jr.; son,
James Edward Hudgins;
sister, Margaret Whelchel;
brother, Eugene Pittman and
Cody Hudgins, great grand
child. She was a wonderful
wife, mother, grandmother
and great grandmother.
Hazel will be lovingly
remembered by her daugh
ter and son-in-law, Rhonda
and Jon Samples of Gaines
ville; her son, Ronnie
Hudgins of Flowery Branch;
two sisters, Lucille Martin,
Gainesville and Jimmie Lou
Pittman, Maysville; daugh-
ter-in-law Sherry Allison of
Gainesville; and her grand
children, Christin Lee and
husband Nathan of Mari
etta; KayLynn Samples of
Gainesville; Kevin Hudgins
and wife Shanda, Pennsyl
vania; Jarred Hudgins of
Gainesville; Corey Hudgins
of Gainesville; Heather Rob
erts and husband Josh of
Sugar Hill; Jacob Hudgins of
Flowery Branch and nieces,
nephews and friends she
loved and they loved her.
She was a great grandmother
to Brooklynn, Brady and
Blake Hudgins of Pennsyl
vania and Ronin Hudgins of
Gainesville.

special caregivers at Morn-

Cemetery in Gainesville, GA.
Robert is preceded in
death by his parents, Walker
and Beatrice (Satterfield)
Pruitt. He will be greatly
missed by his sister and
brother-in-law Sue and Joe
Bailey and a number of
nieces and nephews.
He served in the United
States Air Force and was
the office manager for Good
Will in Austin, TX. Robert
was an avid football fan,
especially of the Georgia
Bulldogs.

Smith, age 64 of Alto, passed
away on Friday, Nov. 23,
2018.
Born on July 18, 1954, in
Gainesville, he was a son of
the late Clarence and Hazel
McClung Smith. Mr. Smith
was retired from Wrigley/
Mars Manufacturing and
was a member of New
Vision Worship Center. Mr.
Smith served his country
proudly in the United States
Army and loved watching
football, baseball and rac
ing. He also loved the out
doors, sitting on his front
porch, cutting grass and
traveling to Pigeon Forge.
In addition to his parents,
Mr. Smith was also preceded
in death by his daughter,
Kayla Smith; grandchild,
Peyton Smith; and sisters,
Betty Ann Sailors, Inez
Mathis and Donna Hall.
He is survived by his wife,
Pemelia “Pam” Smith of
Alto; son and daughter-in-
