After Khashoggi murder,
US debates role in Yemen
BY MARY CLARE JALONICK
Associated Press
The Senate is debating a
resolution that would call
on the U.S. to pull assistance
from the Saudi-led war in
Yemen, a measure that has
won new support in the after-
math of the killing
of Saudi journalist
Jamal Khashoggi.
The Senate voted
60-39 on Wednesday
to open debate on
the resolution, signal
ing there is enough
support to win the
50 votes needed.
But it’s unclear how
amendments to the
measure could affect the
final vote, which is expected
to come Thursday.
While enough Republicans
support the resolution for it to
pass, Majority Leader Mitch
McConnell and most other
Republicans oppose it. The
resolution was sponsored by
Republican Sen. Mike Lee of
Utah and independent Sen.
Bernie Sanders of Vermont.
“I think every single mem
ber of this body shares grave
concerns about the murder
of Khashoggi and wants
accountability,” McCon
nell said on the Senate floor
Wednesday. “We also want
to preserve a 70-year part
nership between the United
States and Saudi Arabia, and
we want to ensure it con
tinues to serve American
interests and stabilizes a dan
gerous and critical region. ”
Senators have been
enraged over Khashoggi’s
October killing and the White
House response. U.S. intel
ligence officials concluded
Saudi crown prince Moham
med bin Salman must have
at least known of the plot,
but President Donald Trump
has been reluctant to pin the
blame.
That outrage
prompted several
Republicans to sup
port the Yemen
resolution because
it would be seen as
a rebuke to the long
time ally. Others
had concerns about
the war in Yemen,
which human rights groups
say is wreaking havoc on the
country and subjecting civil
ians, many of them
children, to indis
criminate bombing
and disease.
Senate Foreign
Relations Commit
tee Chairman Bob
Corker, a Republi
can from Tennes
see, is preparing a
separate, alternate
resolution condemning the
journalist’s killing. McCon
nell urged senators to vote
for Corker’s measure, which
he said “does a good job cap
turing bipartisan concerns
about both the war in Yemen
and the behavior of our Saudi
partners more broadly.”
Corker has not released the
full text of that resolution.
It appears unlikely that
the House would be willing
to consider either measure.
House leaders added a provi
sion to an unrelated House
rule that would make it
harder for lawmakers there
to call up a Yemen resolu
tion if the Senate passes it.
The rule barely passed, 206-
203, after Democrats railed
against the Yemen provision.
“We should not be sitting
idly by waiting for the start
of the next Congress as this
conflict rages on,” said Mas
sachusetts Rep. Jim McGov
ern. “We should be doing
something today. ”
CIA Director Gina Haspel
briefed House leaders on the
Khashoggi murder Wednes
day, and Secretary of State
Mike Pompeo and Defense
Secretary Jim Mattis are
scheduled to brief the full
House on Thursday.
Pompeo and Mat
tis briefed the Senate
last month and told
senators there was
“no direct report
ing” and “no smok
ing gun” to connect
the crown prince to
Khashoggi’s death.
But a smaller group
of senators leaving a sepa
rate briefing with Haspel
days later said there was
“zero chance” the crown
prince wasn’t involved.
Pressed on a response to
the murder, Trump has said
the United States “intends
to remain a steadfast part
ner” of the country, touted
Saudi arms deals worth bil
lions of dollars to the U.S.
and thanked the country for
plunging oil prices.

Mom whose child was yanked
by police resolves another case
BY MIKE CATALINI
Associated Press
TRENTON, N.J. - A
mother who was violently
separated from her toddler
by New York police in a vid
eotaped encounter agreed on
Wednesday to do community
service to resolve another
legal case.
A judge told Jazmine
Headley, 23, that the charges
will be dropped in her credit
card fraud case in New Jer
sey if she completes an inter
vention program.
Judge Peter Warshaw said
Headley will have to pay
back about $1,000. Her agree
ment also includes 20 hours
of community service.
“I’m just happy to be
reunited with my son, ’’Head-
ley said outside the court
house in Trenton.
Headley faced two credit
card theft charges and a
count of trafficking personal
information, along with two
other defendants who were
not in court Wednesday.
On Tuesday, Brooklyn
District Attorney Eric Gon
zalez dismissed the charges
against Headley relating to
the benefits office tussle,
saying he was “horrified by
the violence depicted” in a
bystander’s video. She left a
New York jail later that day.
Mayor Bill de Blasio said it
was “deeply troubling” and
“100 percent unacceptable.”
The incident in the ben
efits office did not come up
during her court appearance
in New Jersey.
The video captured the
scene that unfolded last
Friday as officers tried to
remove Headley from the
crowded office, where she
had sat on the floor for two
hours due to a lack of chairs.
Police were called when
she refused a security
guard’s order to leave.
Headley ended up lying
face-up on the floor dur
ing a tug-of-war over her
18-month-old son. Other cli
ents shouted at the officers.
At one point, an officer can
be seen pulling her stun gun
and pointing it at people in
the crowd. Clients of the
facility complained the epi
sode was indicative of how
the city treats social-services
recipients.
“What happened to
Jazmine Headley and her
son Damone should never
have happened,” de Blasio, a
Democrat, said Wednesday.
“It will not happen again.”
The New York Police
Department and the Depart
ment of Social Services are
reviewing the incident. Two
city employees have been
placed on modified duty.

New Patented Pill
For Bladder Control
Makes Store Debut
Studies show a new pill may be effective enough to replace
adult diapers at stores leading one major retailer to now
carry it; users report reductions in urgency, frequency,
leaking, and nighttime urination.
NEW PILL TO REPLACE DIAPERS MAKES US DEBUT:
Urivarx™can now be purchased in 12 stores in
the northeast.
Raymond Wilson
Associated Health Press
BOSTON - If you’re one of
the lucky few to live close
enough to the 12 pilot
stores in the northeast, the
news couldn’t be better.
And for everyone else, the
company says they will
still offer their patented
bladder control while
supplies last.
The new pill, called
UriVarx™, contains a
patented ingredient that
keeps the bladder from
releasing involuntarily,
which reduces accidents
and frequent bathroom
trips.
Perhaps more
impressive, it also targets
the tiny muscles around
the bladder, which helps
the bladder to create a
tighter seal.
This would explain why
the average UriVarx™ user
in clinical trials experienced
a 66% reduction in urinary
incontinence symptoms,
such as day and night
leaking and sudden urges
to urinate.
An Amazing
Discovery in Bladder
Control
Until now, doctors
believed it was impossible
to strengthen the muscles
that control the bladder.
They are amazed to see
that it can now be done
with the non-prescription
UriVarx™ pill.
“As you get older, and
the involuntary muscles
around your bladder weak
en, you lose urinary con
trol. With your bladder
wall unable to properly
seal, you constantly leak
and feel pressure to uri
nate” explains Dr. Henry
Esber, creator of the new
pill.
“UriVarx™ targets the
bladder muscles and
help restores vital kidney
health, reducing urgency
and frequency. It also
helps you “hold it” for
hours so you never have to
worry about embarrassing
accidents ever again!”
Freedom From
Sudden Urges and
Leaks
Since hitting the market,
sales for the patented
UriVarx™ pill have soared
and there are some very
good reasons why.
To begin with, the double
blind clinical studies have
been impressive. So much
in fact, they are published
on the clinicaltrials.gov
database.
Participants taking Uri-
Varx™ saw a stunning
reduction in urinary fre
quency, which resulted in
fewer bathroom trips both
day and night.
They also experienced a
dramatic decrease in in
continence episodes, such
as leaking and bed wetting.
The active ingredients
in UriVarx™ comes from
a patented formula. It
is both safe and healthy.
There are also no known
serious side effects in its
history of use.
Day and Night
Protection
Scientists believe that
the ingredients target the
muscles of the bladder
to grow stronger. These
muscles are responsible for
keeping the bladder tightly
sealed. They also help
the bladder to completely
empty, allowing bacteria
to be flushed from the
urinary tract.
Research has shown that
as you get older, certain
hormonal changes in the
body cause these muscles
to shrink and become
lose. This is what causes
the bladder to be over
active and the resulting
urine accidents and why
UriVarx™ seems to be so
effective in the published
clinical trials.
Exciting Results From
Urivarx™ Users
Many UriVarx™ users say
their bladders have never
been stronger. For the first
time in years, they are
confident and in complete
control. Adult pads and
diapers are no longer a big
worry.
“After my third child,
I couldn’t control my
bladder. I was running to
the bathroom all the time!
And once I hit my 60s it
became so unpredictable I
needed to wear adult pads
every day” explained one
sufferer.
“I was embarrassed so
before going to my doctor
I decided to try UriVarx
and I’m so glad I did! The
urgency is gone and I no
longer feel like my bladder
is about to explode. I can
also “hold it” when I need
to so I’m no longer living
in constant fear of finding
a bathroom.”
Impressive Clinical
Results
The exciting clinical re
sults published on the gov
ernment clinical website
clinicaltrials.gov show that
UriVarx™ can strengthen
your bladder fast, signifi
cantly reducing the urine
urgency and leaks.
In a new double-blind,
placebo-controlled clinical
study, 142 men and women
with bladder control issues
were separated into two
groups. The first group was
given a placebo while the
other received UriVarx™.
Overall, the UriVarx™
group experienced:
• 56% Reduction in Urge
Incontinence
• 66% Reduction in Stress
Incontinence
• 61 % Reduction in Urgency
• 33% Reduction in
Frequency
•46% Reduction in
Nighttime Bathroom Trips
The results were
incredible. The
participants who received
UriVarx™ saw major
improvements in leaking,
pressure, and the urgency
to go - all without the
usual side effects seen in
prescription drugs! They
also reported fewer trips to
the bathroom both day and
night.
Additionally, at the
end of clinical trial and
after seeing the results,
84% of the participants
taking UriVarx™ said it
significantly improved
their quality of life.
“The clinical findings
are incredible, but people
still wonder if it will really
work” explains Dr. Esber.
“It’s normal to be
skeptical, but we’ve seen
thousands of UriVarx™ users
get results exactly like the
participants in the study. It’s
an amazing product.”
Targets and
Strengthens Bladder
Muscle
UriVarx™ is a pill that’s to
be taken twice daily. It does
not require a prescription.
The active ingredients are
patented natural extracts.
Research shows that as
we get older, the muscles
which surround the bladder
weaken. This is caused by
hormonal changes in the
body that causes the muscles
to atrophy and weaken.
When they become
too small and weak, they
cannot seal your bladder
shut, which causes leaking,
accidents, among other
incontinence symptoms.
It also prevents your
bladder from fully emp
tying, which can result in
persistent bacterial infec
tions and UTIs.
UriVarx’s™ active ingre
dient targets the muscles
around the bladder, mak
ing them stronger. Support
ing ingredients in UriVarx™
support kidney function
and overall urinary health.
Bladder Problems
Gone
With daily use, UriVarx™
can restore strong bladder
control and help users
overcome leakage without
the negative side effects
or interactions associated
with drugs.
Leakage sufferers can
now put an end to the
uncontrollable urges, the
embarrassing accidents, and
enjoy an entirely new level
of comfort and confidence.
