The Bobcat Buzz staff
made a trip to the Georgia
Mountain Food Bank. The
Georgia Mountain Food
Bank's goal is to reduce
the number of individuals
who are food insecure all
around North Georgia. Did
you know that one in five
kids and one in six adults
are food insecure? They do
not know where there next
meal will come from.
The people of North
Georgia volunteer to
help the food bank in an
effort to help community
members in need.
When you walk into the
food bank, you are greeted
by staff and volunteers
and you see the boxes
filled with food. Then
you realize that the food
there will only last for
a short amount of time.
Local grocery stores and
community members
donate food, gift cards and
cash to assist in the effort.
The donated food is sorted
and given out to people
who are food insecure. Did
you also know that one
dollar covers five meals
at the Georgia Mountain
Food Bank? If we all give
just one little bit of cash
or volunteer our time, we
could have a huge impact
on people's lives. Will you
help us do that today?
Today is your chance to
have an influence and
possibly even change
someone's life .Tell your
relatives and friends so
we can create an ongoing
effect of kindness and
caring to our community.

NFL's Fuel Up
to Play 60
By: Brennan Weeks, Milin Patel, McKenna

The program Fuel Up to Play 60 encourages
kids to get 60 minutes of active time. Fuel
Up to Play 60 helps children get healthier
by teaching principles of good health like
what to give your body, what drinks fuel your
systems, what to eat, and how to stay active.
NFL is a proud sponsor of Fuel Up to Play 60
and is dedicated to helping today's youth.
In 2007, the NFL launched this program
and 73,000 schools participate. It is a
program that leads the nation to think
more about youth health and fitness. It is
encouraged that schools promote at least 60
active minutes a day.
NFL's relationship with Fuel Up to Play 60
is exciting because of their in-school pep
rallies. Recently, the Atlanta Falcons came
to Sardis Enrichment School and held a pep
rally to pump up the Bobcats with healthy
information. They also brought along Falcon
Freddie and students were engaged in fun
activities. Other programs offered include
an outdoor baseball program, super bowl,
pro bowl, draft, kickoff, and measures of
thankfulness. NFL players and coaches have
dedicated over $200 million to youth health.

BOBCAT of the Year: Mrs. Angela Allen
By: Bethany

This Bobcat is
VERY special. She
truly goes above
and beyond, or
out of her way to
help others. Mrs.
Angela Allen was
chosen with pride
to be our Boocat
Of The Year. She
deserves this
amazing award.
Here we present
to you Mrs. Allen
in the raw.
She wanted
to become
an educator
because her son
had a disability.
According to her,
his teacher treated
him unfairly and
she needed to
make it right. So
she set forth her
plan and became a
teacher. Mrs Allen
chuckled as she
said, "It's a good
feeling that co
workers picked me
[as the Bobcat of
The Year]. It makes
me feel humble.
I got an upfront
parking space!"
Mrs. Allen has
worked at Sardis
for eleven years.
She explained her
love that Sardis
is a great big
family. Mrs. Allen
is willing to help
others and she
remains humble
and says "I'm just
me."
She loves to
spend time with
her family and
go to church.
Mrs. Allen is the
BOBCAT OF THE
YEAR, and we
honestly don't
know what we
would do without
her.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM
THE BOBCAT BUZZ
Music is a Gift
By: Parker Grant, Brody Burke, Killian Henson,
AN Short, Ellie Willis, & Shyan Steele
You're driving down the road and your favorite
holiday song comes on the radio. It makes you
think. Music brings holiday cheer to everyone
around the world. There are a lot of holiday
songs like Jingle Bells, Rudolph the Red Nosed
Reindeer, Silent Night, The Dreidel Song, Feliz
Navidad and many more. Music can bring
back memories from the past and create new
ones in the present. Our music teacher Mrs.
Aileen Ward said one of her favorite songs is
Christmas Time is Here because it reminds
her of when she watches Charlie Brown every
Thanksgiving night with her friends and family
in celebration of Christmas.
Music is a gift. The Bobcat Buzz staff agrees
with Judy Garland, "Have yourself a merry little
Christmas."
