Charles Alan Lynn
passed away on
Thursday, May 7.
Alan was born on
February 7, 1955, to
Jasper and Jeanette
Lynn. He was a retired
contractor. He met and
married Donna Reed
and they enjoyed their
happily ever after for
over 25 years.
Alan was preceded in
death by his father,
Jasper “Charles” Lynn;
mother, Jeannette Lynn
and sister, Rhonda Lynn.
Alan’s life will forever
be cherished and
remembered by his
loving wife, Donna Reed

passed away Saturday,
May 9.
A graveside service will
be held at 1:30 p.m. CST
on Wednesday, May 13,
at Maple Hill Cemetery
in Huntsville, AL.
Reverend Mark Seanor
will officiate. The family
will receive friends from
1:00 p.m. until 1:30 p.m.
Born on August 17,
1926, in Grove Oak, AL
she was the daughter
of the late Asbury and
Bessie Evers Fossett. She
was an administrative
assistant with Redstone
Arsenal and a member of
First Baptist Church of
Huntsville, AL.
In addition to her
parents, Mrs. Kennamer
is preceded in death
by her husband,
Robert”Bob” Kennamer.
Mrs. Kennamer is
survived by her daughter
and son in law, Linda
and Faron Thompson of
Gainesville; grandsons,
Roan Thompson,
Jack Thompson both
of Gainesville; and
sister, Louise Fossett of
Albertville, AL.

Dr. James Robert
Wright
Died May 8, 2020
Dr. Wright was born
in Gainesville in 1935,
and died Friday, May
8, in Birmingham,
Alabama. He grew up
in Gainesville, the fifth
of seven children of A.
D. and Miriam Wright.
After graduating from
Gainesville High School,
he attended Vanderbilt
and Emory Universities.
He was a member of
Sigma Alpha Epsilon
Fraternity. Dr. Wright
graduated from Emory
University School of
Medicine and interned
at Piedmont Hospital in
Atlanta. Afterward he
entered the U. S. Public
Health Service spending
his military assignment
at the Atlanta Federal
Penitentiary and
completing his tenure as
Lieutenant Commander.
Dr. Wright received his
Ophthalmology training
in residency at Tulane in
New Orleans, Louisiana,
and Emory in Atlanta.
Returning to
Gainesville in 1967,
Dr. Wright entered
the private practice of
Ophthalmology and was
a member of the staff
at Northeast Georgia
Medical Center for
over thirty years. Upon
retirement, he opened
an eye clinic at Good
News Clinic where he
volunteered for more
than ten years. During
his life Dr. Wright served
in many professional and
community endeavors
as well as being an elder
at Chestnut Mountain
and Westminster
Presbyterian Churches.
With exceptional energy
and pleasure, Bob Wright
was also a gardener, a
bee keeper, a builder,
a fisherman, a tennis
player, a swimmer, but
most of all a family man.
Living and playing on
Lake Lanier for forty-
six years with Tommye,
his five children, and
later the thirteen
grandchildren was his
greatest joy.
He is survived by his
wife of sixty-three years,
Tommye Hamilton

(Ann), Lewis Hamilton
Wright (Barbara),
Edward Thomas Wright
(Julia), two daughters,
Carol Wright Schaffeld
(Bob), Crystal Bauer

Bob’s faith was strong
in his Lord and Savior
Jesus Christ, and he
left a legacy of children
and grandchildren who
are all walking in his
footsteps.
A private family service
will be held with a
memorial service to be
held at a later date. In

George Mason Wood
Died April 30, 2020
George Mason Wood
of Gillsville, passed
away Thursday, April
30, at the age of 94,
in Birmingham, AL.
George was born March
4, 1926, in Gillsville, to
Harbin Albert Wood and
Florence Segars Wood.
He was the only brother
in a family with seven
sisters. After graduating
from high school, George
volunteered to serve in
the Navy during WWII
and spent his time in
service sailing
between New York
and Rouen, France
protecting shipments of
supplies for the Allied
Forces in Europe. When
the war concluded, he
attended Berry College
where he played for
the baseball team as
a left-handed pitcher.
George married his
high school sweetheart,
Lee Frankum, on June
11, 1948. They raised
two sons in Decatur,
GA. George spent his
working career as a
shipping manager for
Genuine Parts in Atlanta.
After retirement, George
and Lee returned to his
family farm in Gillsville,
where he was quite
famous for his beautiful
garden and vegetables.
They enjoyed hosting
family gatherings at
the farm, where there
was always room at the
table for everyone who
stopped by. Anyone lucky
enough to spend the
night enjoyed George’s
biscuits, eggs, bacon,
and famous pancakes
for breakfast. When he
wasn’t busy farming he
enjoyed watching sports,
especially the Atlanta
Braves and the Georgia
Tech Yellow Jackets.
George was
a devoted husband;
loving father,
grandfather, great
grandfather, brother,
and uncle; talented
farmer; excellent cook;
and faithful member
of Midway United
Methodist Church in
Gillsville.
He will be remembered
for his kindness, calm,
steady spirit, great love
for his extended family
and friends, and tireless
commitment to any task
he undertook.
He was preceded in
death by his wife of 65
years, Lee Wood; his
parents; and sisters
Gertrell Wood, Alma
Martin, Mary Brownlow,
Jimmie Cooper, and
Margaret Kytle.
He is survived by his
sons Christopher Wood
(Joy) of Birmingham,
AL and Timothy Wood
(Lesa) of Collierville,
TN; granddaughters

Jackson
Died May 10, 2020
James William (Billy)
Jackson, age 72, of
Murrayville, died Sunday
May 10, at his residence.
He was born in Blue
Ridge, and since the age
of ten he has resided in
Hall County. Mr. Jackson
was the son of the late
Rev. Thomas Grady and
Mary Irene (Chambers)
Jackson. Mr. Jackson
worked in the printing
industry for many years
and was also a Minister
of Music at various
churches in North GA.
Mr. Jackson was well
known in gospel music
for his work with choirs
and was a very gifted
and talented pianist. He
was a member of Mt.
Olive Baptist Church in
Lumpkin County.
Survivors include his
wife, Debra Sullens
Jackson of Murrayville;
son and daughter-
in-law, Jonathan and
Kayla Jackson and
grandson Grady William,
Commerce; son and
daughter-in-law, Jared
and Julie Jackson and
grandchildren Baylee,
Lonnie, Easton and
Emmalyn, Jefferson.

Nellie Stone Pirkle
Died May 10, 2020
Nellie Stone Pirkle, age
89, transitioned into
peaceful rest on Sunday,
May 10. Mrs. Pirkle
was born September
26, 1930, in Barrow
County, to the late Ella
Moulder Stone and
Lester Columbus Stone.
She married the late
Joshua Franklin Pirkle
Sr. on July 15, 1950.
She was preceded in
death by her parents,
her husband and a
son Joshua Franklin
(Frank) Pirkle Jr. Mrs.
Pirkle graduated from
Winder High School.
She received her LPN
certification in 1966. She
was employed by Winder
physicians and the
hospital for many years.
Mrs. Pirkle continued
to care for others until
her death. Mrs. Pirkle
was an active member
of the Hoschton United
Methodist Church.
She was a loving and
devoted wife, mother
and grandmother. She
enjoyed singing and
playing the guitar. She
was a gracious southern
cook whose chocolate
pies and pound cakes
were the destination
of many attending the
church or family reunion
gatherings. She enjoyed
the thrill of the hunt
for antiques and spent
many a Saturday with
her longtime friend
Grade (Grace Cornett)
traveling to their hot
spots. Mrs. Pirkle is
survived by a son Steve,
his wife Brenda and
her two grandchildren
Jesseca and Morgan,
from Arenzville, IL.
She is also survived
by a daughter-in-law
Ruthie Pirkle (wife of
son Joshua Franklin
Pirkle Jr.). The family
will forgo visitation
and graveside services
to prevent the spread
and health risk to
friends and family due
to the COVID 19 virus.
Interment will be at the
Pirkle Family Cemetery,
Hoschton. A life
celebration is tentatively
planned for September

Mr. Ronald D. “Ronnie”
Robinson, age 73, of
Gainesville, passed away
on Friday, May 8, at his
residence following an
extended illness.
Funeral services were
held Tuesday, May
12, at 2:00 p.m,. at
Montgomery Memorial
Baptist Church, with
interment to follow, at
Zion Hill Baptist Church
Cemetery. Reverend
Darryl Womack, Mr.
Johnny Wilson and
Mr. Ken Ausburn will
officiate. The family
received friends on
Monday, May 11, from
2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00
- 8:00 p.m. at the funeral
home.
Mr. Robinson was born
November 11, 1946, in
Chatsworth, to the late
George T. Robinson, Jr.
and Mae Jones Robinson.
He was a member of
Montgomery Memorial
Baptist Church, where
he was an active deacon
and loved his church.
Ronnie was a member
of Harvesters Sunday
School class, and served
as the Church Treasurer.
Ronnie was retired
from Stork-Gamco with
25 years of service,
traveling the United
States, having many
loyal clients as well as
friends. Ronnie was a
devoted husband of 55
years. Nancy was the
love of his life and they
shared three beautiful
children. Ronnie loved
his family and most of all
he loved the Lord.

Tommy Henry Seabolt,
age 68, of Gainesville,
passed away on
Thursday, May 7.
He is predeceased in
death by his mother;
Jacqueline Stargel, and
his siblings; Bill Page,
Mary Nolan, and William
Seabolt.
Tommy was a devoted
and loving husband,
father and papa. In his
free time, he enjoyed
hunting and fishing with
the many friends he met
along the shorelines
of Lake Lanier. He
worked at World Wide
manufacturing for
many years. Tommy
dedicated many years to
playing, coaching and
forming winning softball
teams. For 52 years he
was also a bowler with
the Piedmont and The
United States bowling
congress.
Tommy is survived by
his wife, Adella Seabolt,
of Gainesville; children
Tina Seabolt Wilson
(Neko), of Gainesville,
Angel Matheson
(Chuck), of Dawsonville,
Robin Self (Michael),
of Talking Rock, and
Brooke Webb (Chris),
of Flowery Branch; and,

Tommy also leaves

Virginia Allen
Cornelison, age 89,
passed away on
Thursday, May 7, with
Hospice of Northeast
Georgia Medical Center,
in Gainesville. Virginia
was born on May 7,
1931, in Chicopee, to
George W. and Elsie
Miller Allen. She was
the second oldest of five
children and grew up in
the Candler district of
Hall County. Virginia
received her B.A. at
Berry College in 1953.
Her late husband,
Rembert L. Cornelison,
also graduated from
Berry College. Virginia
later earned a Master’s
in Education at North
Georgia College.
Virginia was predeceased
by her husband,
Rembert, her parents,
and three of her siblings,
Leroy H. Allen, Ann
Allen Williams and her
beloved husband Willis
L. Williams, and Roger
Allen (all who lived in
Hall County), as well as
by her daughter, Melody
Ann Trent (who lived in
North Carolina).
Virginia is survived
by one son, Steven A.
