8A Midweek Edition-December 2-3, 2020 The Times, Gainesville, Georgia | gainesvilletimes.com Obituaries Elizabeth Lynn Beggs Crania Died November 24, 2020 Elizabeth Lynn Beggs Cronia, 68, wife of Forrest Cronia, Sr., passed away peacefully with her husband at her side November 24, 2020, in Tidelands Georgetown Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Cronia was the baby of eleven siblings and was born in Tifton, GA on October 21, 1952, a daughter of the late Fred Beggs and Ethelene “Billie” Willis Beggs. She grew up in Tifton and graduated from Tifton High School. She also graduated from Gainesville Jr. College, where she was on the drill team, and Brenau College with a degree in Social Work. Elizabeth met Forrest in Gainesville, GA and they were married for 48 years. She was a member of Lakewood Baptist Church in Gainesville. She later taught children’s church and Sunday School at Ebenezer Church in Florence, SCs. Elizabeth was active as a Leader in Cub Scouts and Brownies, and Girl Scouts and Baseball, Basketball, Softball, Soccer and was a Team Mom for West Florence Football Team. Mrs. Cronia was employed by the S. C. Alcohol and Drug Safety Action Program (SC ADSAP), and also worked for Keystone Substance Abuse Program and Bruce Hall Hospital in Florence. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cronia was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters. Surviving are: her husband, Forrest Eugene Cronia, Sr. of Pawleys Island; a son, Forrest Eugene Cronia, Jr. and fiancee Emily Rodgers Richardson of Murrrells Inlet; two daughters, Monica Lynn Cronia Hancock (Timothy) of Statesville, NC and Candice Elizabeth Cronia of Charleston; three grandchildren, Bailey, Lawrence, and Amy Hancock; two brothers, Michael Beggs (Lola) of Stephens County, GA and Robert Beggs (Pam) of Tifton County, GA; a sister, Irma Ree Brown ( Jim Brown deceased) of Ball Ground, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-three years, Geneva Skelton Wilkes; parents, Charlie “Hub” and Bertha Dowdy Wilkes; brothers, C. H. Wilkes, Clyde Wilkes and Charles Edwin Wilkes; and sister, Lanell Miller. Mr. Wilkes was born August 15, 1925 in Jefferson, GA. He was a 1941 graduate of Martin Institute High School in Jefferson, GA. Mr. Wilkes was a World War II Army veteran having served for three years. He was retired from AT & T a/k/a BellSouth Telephone Company after thirty-seven years of service as a manager of the Central Office in Buford, GA. He was a member of the Buford American Legion Post No. 127. Mr. Wilkes was a Mason and member of the Buford Masonic Lodge No. 292 F & AM. He traveled some with the Abundant Life Fellowship at First Baptist Church of Buford. Mr. Wilkes was a member of Buford First United Methodist Church where he was also a member of the Men’s Bible Class, Methodist Men’s Club, sang in the choir, was a former Sunday school teacher and served as a Trustee for a number of years. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Buford First United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim Buckman officiating. Interment will follow at Broadlawn Memorial Gardens in Buford, GA with military honors. Mr. Gilstrap also drove a tour bus for 11 years, was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of Montgomery Memorial Baptist Church. Dean enjoyed playing the steel guitar, and his musical talents led him to be inducted into the Atlanta Country Music Hall of Fame in 2015. At a young age, as the oldest daughter, she helped her mother raise her five siblings. She taught herself how to read and write, which contributed to her strong character. She was a devoted Christian and attended her hometown church. She was married to Yousef Daoud Hadad for 66 years and continued to be his devoted wife until her passing. She had 6 children. She was a pillar of strength for her children and husband. The success of her husband and children were, in large part, due to her commitment to supporting their ambitions. She moved to Gainesville, GA to be with her husband and children. She proudly became an American Citizen, and she continued her dedication to the success of her children and grandchildren in the United States. She was the ultimate source of love for her grandchildren. She is predeceased by her husband, Yousef Daoud Hadad, her brother Ghanam Hadad, and her sister Mary Hadad. Nadwa Is survived by her six children and their spouses: Nidal Hadad and his wife, Lina Issa; Omaima Fahed and her husband, Albert Fahed; Lina Muhanna and her husband, Nabil Muhanna; Ayham Hadad and his wife, Lamis Kawa; Sinan Hadad and his wife, Bushra Alzaraneh; and Maysoun Nadrous and her husband, Hasan Nadrous.
