MARRIAGE ANNOUNCEMENT.
Dr. and Mrs. A. S. Hopkins, of Cov
ington, announce the engagement of
their daughter, Islah Mai, to Mr.
James Ira Rorke, of Birmingham,
Ala., the marriage to be solemnized
in June.
This announcement, which was car
ried by the Sunday Atlanta's papers,
will be received with interest in Law
renceville and throughout Gwinnett
county, the bride’s parents having
been reared here.
The bride-to-be is the eldest daugh
ter of Dr. and Mrs. Hopkins, and is a
young woman of charm of manner
and refinement. She is a graduate of
G. S. C. W. and has. recently been
teaching in Covington. Her grand
mother, Mrs. G. W. Hopkins, resides
here, as does also her aunts, Mrs.
Sam Craig, Sr., Mrs. Julia Gheesling,
and her uncle, Mr. E. T. Hopkins.

A large congregation was at the
Methodist church Sunday night to
hear Dr. LaPrade’s interesting ser
mon on the text, “She hath done
what she could.” Immediatelv af
ter the sermon the second quarterly
conferomce was held with a good at
tendance of the official members
and many visitors. Dr. LaPrade was
high in his expressions of praise of
the work done during the past three
months. Good reports were made by
all the departments of the church,
indicating a wholesome condition in
all her work.

found his way God and life. No
one can enter into the great heart
experiences of Mr. Erskine without
having the realities of life made
more precious and seeing the truly
worth while things of life in a clear
