The total popular vote of the va

last national election was made
known Tuesday in New York. The
total vote cast was 14,852,239, and
is as follows:
Taft, republican 7,637,646
Bryan, democrat 6,393,182

Chafin, prohibitionist 241,258

Christmas tree are busy, and every
thing looks as if 1t will be a suc
cess..
The comwitte to solicit tunds have
found nearly everyone ready to con
tribute to‘its support, and it 15 be
lieved that'all expect to have a nice
time.
Itls not given for the benefit of
the Baptist Sunday School alone,
but everyone is invited to take a
part and help out with the work.
The committees intend to put a
present on the wree for every child
in the town, and it is their desire
that all will take an interest in the
work, and endeavor to make the
evening pleasant for all.

P, held a regular convention Thurs
day, Dec. 10, in which officers were
elected for the ensuing term, and
other business was transacted. As
ter the lodge meeting, a fine oyster
roast was enjoyed by all. The
