On Sunday, January 12 the church will host Stuart Hall as the event speaker and the Brown Family will be the guest musicians. Two service times will be offered in the morning (8:50 AM and 11:00 AM) and there will be one combined service that evening at 6:00 PM. Stuart Hall is a dynamic communicator with the Echo Group in Duluth, Georgia. He has preached all over the U. S. and in several for eign countries. The Brown Family consists of the father, Mark and daughters, Erin and Meagan. Their music is a beautiful blend of tradi tional hymns and contemporary Christian worship music. Mark (the dad and leader of Brown Family Ministries) explains their ministry like this: “Since the begin ning of BFM, we knew our love for music would have a vital role in this ministry. God has given us the abili ty to play many different styles of music which has opened doors for us to minister to various groups of peo ple — both within and outside the church. We have been privileged to lead young people in worship through retreats like Disciple Now Weekends and also connect with col lege students and singles at events such as the LifeWay Singles Retreat. We’ve led worship for church revivals and have also enjoyed reach ing out to the senior adult groups within the church. Leading marriage retreats has been an interesting addi tion to the ministry of BFM. We never expected to serve in this way and have been so encouraged to see how God has worked in couples’ lives as we’ve shared our personal trials and lessons learned with them. We are all on this journey together.” Brown Family Ministries has also led at the Billy Graham Training Center at The Cove as conference worship leaders. They have been on the program with speakers such as Dr. Henry Blackaby with his son Dr. Richard Blackaby, Dr. Lloyd John Ogilvie, Pastor Jim Cymbala, and Chip Ingram. Stuart Hall provides vision and leadership for two highly effective non-profit organizations (XP3: A Division of the Rethink Group & DASH INC), works to develop spiri tually influential students that engage culture, partners with organizations like the Fellowship of Christian Athletes to develop students as lead ers, travels and speaks to thousands of students and leaders each year, and has coauthored three books (The Seven Checkpoints: Seven Principles Every Teenager Needs to Know, MAX Q: Developing Students of Influence and Wired: For a Life of Worship, Leaders Edition). Nathan Wright of North Cobb Christian School summarized the time Stuart spent with them this way: “This week has been fantastic for us. I have never received as much posi tive feedback from students, teachers and even parents. Stuart really con nected with them and they were glued to his words. The theme for the day represents a heartfelt prayer for God to awaken hearts that have become cold and dis tant in their relationship with Him. People from all walks of life are invited to come to the “Refresh” One-Day Event.
