Tiie Washington Farmers’ Alliance hoU ’a run a paper of its own. In other “ the Alliance is as prosper ^ w here it is here, it has become necessary to have a State organ. The Washington Alliance membership is spread and ail over it i* eastern Washington and Idaho, impissible to show the progress made or the ‘present growing condition of the Al ^rce without a“ State paper. If the vork of every ’ 1 C3l Alliance was pub¬ lished weekly, and the great good the All aace is doing for the farmers was set forth from time to time in editorial work it would uot be long until our or «rsfliziriou would be SOTOOO strong in the State. The Alliance cannot afford to patronize or in any *we way support a parti ad paper, and if are not able to run »a Alliance organ, vre should as least use the columns of an independent paper." *** The following resolution was passed by Franklin County (Ohio) Alliance at a re¬ cent meeting: - Alliance “Resolved, That the F irniers of Franklin county, Ohio, congratulate oarw-rthy [incident of the National Fanners’ Alliance of the United States, forhis very able and patriotic address just delivered, and the cheerful news he wings us from the great West and South, and the matchles energy and momentum of the movement throughout the coun¬ try. He comes through our capital city from Kansas, Mi*souri, Illinois and Indiana, to inform us of how the work is progressing and to en¬ courage us in the noble cause in which the farmers are engaged for the better¬ ment of their own condition, and not only their own welfare, but to enlarge the spheie of justice and humanity among all classes of industrial workers through this broad land. And we hereby delegate him to carry our greeting to brother far¬ mers in other Stales, and assure them that the titters of the soil in the “Buek eye” State are coming “Uncle Sam” with a hundred thousand strong. *** The Farmer Advocate, the official paper •f the Farmers’ Alliance or people’s party of Kansas, in a recent issue ha* thu fol¬ lowing to say of the future of the party; “We shall at once commence to marshal the hosts of the people for the conflict, and in this great work there are many prejudices to be overcome. Sectional lines must be abolished, interests which are identical must be brought together and the combined forces of the igricultural and laboring classes must be consolidated against the forces of corporations, monopolies, trusts «ud monied aristocrats, who have for years feasted upon the substance of the people. The comiug contest will not take place between northern and southern people of the country. The interests of the people of the west and south are identical and their political forces must be consolidated against the power of cor porate greed. It ha* been and is the holy mission of the Farmers’ Alliance to subdue sectional prejudice, which lias been kept by the profession! politicians in the interest of monopoly. It is full time for this nation to become united,” *0* The Farmer s’ and Laborer*' LljJtt (Princton, led.) says: “If there is a single reason why our merchants should not join the farmers in their efforts to secure the reforms demanded, we have failed to discover it. All over the broad West the success©? the merchant depends npoa the prosperity of the fanner. When the farmer prospers all other business is active. Intelligent farmers make no tight upon merchants and tow n They realize that business men buy goods as low as possible and sell at a very small profit. They also realize that the mcr chant is in no way respon*ible for trusts and combinations, yet he suffers from their effects as well as the farmer. The farmer knows that by legislation alone can these evils be eradicated. The mer¬ chant is aware of the same fact. Then why not join together in ' securing the needed legislation. To advocate this legislation through the old parties that are in the clutches of these trusts atul combinations, the is folly. They have had opportunity this and refused. Iu view °* fact there remains but one chance and that is through a new party, h merchant* and laborers are wise they the join heartily with the farmers for Statistics* bettering of the condition of all. prove th it agriculture is on the decline and that farmers as a class arc not prosperous. The very nature of things tion teaches that when such a condi¬ oonfronts the farmer, the merchant *ad laborer will not prosper. When the •hip of the farmer perishes, the boat of the merchant must go down with her. To tt ' er t this stranding of both, the mer ctrnat must cast aside his foolish preju uices, as tho farmer has already done, stand shoulder to shoulder against *he cenmon enemy the money power. - KOCH'S DISCOVERY .'SEATING A FfROR OF E-X.'r TtfTr - AMOXG COX iOiTTFVES. --— A ' ii cr.a «!i.-pulch of Friday &»r« Doctors S«fcKajrl, Billroth and" Row a^ski praise Prof. Koch’s remedy and sc‘ that it * the grc.iui. u *c. :*r since *hd of Dr. .Tenner.
