i ne?vs3 l LOCALS FROM ALMON. By Our Special Corespondent. Mr. Henry Longshore, who for some months has been with his brother in the “Racket Store,” left last week for his home in South Carolina. Mrs. Genie Preston spent sev¬ eral days of last week with her sister-in law, Mrs. Guy Lan¬ ders. Misses Cana •Marbu'; and Cora Huff of Rockdale visited in Al mon last week. Mrs. A. T. Gray left some days since for Augusta where she will make her home. Mr. Gray has been in business at that place for some time. Miss Linda Holder left Mon¬ day for a short stay in Conyers. Mr. Harmon Hicks of Coving ten was in our town Thursday looking round for a place to lo¬ cate. Mr. D. T. Stone went up to At¬ lanta Saturday morning to see his sister-in-law, Mrs. Milligan, who is quite seriously ill. Col. Holder left Monday morn¬ ing on a business trip to Augusta. Almou came near having a se¬ rious burning Wednesday night. Several bales of cotton had been ginned during the day at Col. Holder’s gin, and at night the doors were secured by locks and bolts as usual. Sometime during the night some party or parties effected an-entrance and it is pre¬ sumed set fire to a bale of cotton belonging to Henry Pitts, col. Twenty one hundred dollars was the price paid for 223 acres. Dr. J. A. Stewart of Conyers passed through our town Mon¬ day enroute to Mr. W. E.
