R. Druggist. Larry Gantt the Man. A few days ago Col. L. F. Dbv ingston received a letter from Hon. C. W. Macune, appointing T. L. Gantt a member of the Na¬ tional Alliance Committee. In the letter which contained the appointment Dr. Macune said: “You will see that it is my duty to appoint one man in each state in behalf of the alliance who shall be ex-officio chairman of the executive or state central com¬ mittee in his state, and shall ap [point district chairman, and in turn appoint 1 1 county chairmen. This . means to . organize the ,, state , , thoroughly for the discussion of our demands during the coming spring. State and national dele are elected by appropriate and representative meetings held for that purpose so that the su preme council next November have fun authority and an active disposition to select a full delegation to the great political conference in ’92.” By virtue of his commission from Dr. Macune, Mr. Gantt has appointed Ms cen tral committee of the state. It is: First district: W. It. Kemp, Swainsboro, Emanual county; Second district; W. W. Webb, Mars, Lowndes county; Third district, W. A. Wilson, Amencus, Sumpter county; Fourth dis¬ trict: J. H. Taylor, LaGrange, Troup county; Fifth district: C. T. Zacliry, McDonough, Henry county; Sixth district: Alexander Atkinson, Jackson, Butts county; Seventh district: G. H. Cameron, LaFayette, Walker county; Eighth district: L. H. O. Martin, Elberton, Elbert county; Ninth district: T. A. McFarland, Lavi uia, Franklin county; Tenth dis¬ trict: Martin Y. Calvin, Augusta, Richmond county. It is easily seen from the above that, if the alliance controls poli¬ tics, as it seems likely to do, then tho present arrangement leaves Georgius national politics very much in the hands of Mr. Gantt and Dr. Macune. This may be satisfactory to the alliance and good people of Geor¬ gia; but, if] so, we are mistaken. Time will tell.
