Mr. Green Hull is on the sick list this week. Judge Candler does business of the court with a vim. Mr. Earnest Vaughn visited Hayston last Sunday. How would a $100,000 cotton mill sound for Conyers? Mr. Mercer George, of Litho nia, is attending our court. Mr. and Mrs Andrew Plunkett visitied in Atlanta last week. The b.est line of clothing in Conyers is at The Blue Front. R. B. Brooks photo gallery for good pictures. Come at once, We are glad to see Col. Capers Dixon at our court this week. Mr. R. M. Everitt, of Coving¬ ton, was in Conyers yesterday. Really the prettiest Calicos you ever saw' are at- The Blue Front. Mr. Henry Austin will be a law¬ yer. He will make a good one. In farm tools, groceries, etc-, J. H. Almand & Co. lead the town. Miss Ethel Price, of Flippen, has been visiting Miss Minnie Turner. You can find all kinds of fresh garden seed at Dr. W. H. Lee’s Drug store. Hon. C. H. Brand, of Laurence ville, is in attendance upon our court this week Easter w-as a delightful oeca tion to those who Avere fitted out at The Blue Front. Mr. Rich Almand, of Washing¬ ton, Ga., visited his mother, Mrs. D. S. Almand, last week. Uncle Jim Dunlap is not the only man who has seen what he wanted at The Blue Front. Mr. Pliney Cain was in Con¬ yers a few days this week selling and advertising his goods. The Blue Front is no prize store. Every article is a true value and is worth what you pay for it. Mrs. Shellnut, who lived on Mr. J. P. McDaniel's place, died last Thursday night of consumption. The recent decline in Shoes put the Blue Front man ahead. He had no old stock on hand you see. Maj. J. T. McElvany, we are sorry to noie, is quite sick. Hope he will soon be able to bo out a gain. J. H. Almand & Co. have a pretty line of dress goods, no ■tions, shoes and clothing at the lowest prices. Capt. Kimsey, our Solicitor, is meeting many friends here this week. He seems to be a regular friend maker anyway. Blood and Nerves are very closely re¬ lated. Keep the blood rich, pure and healthy with Hood’s Sarsaparilla and you will have no trouble from nervo usness. Get only Hood’s. Hood's Pills are the best after-dinner pins, assist digestion, prevent constipation. 25c. Robt. L Hudson will be a can¬ didate for re-election to the' office of Tax Reeiever for another term. He has made a good officer and will probably not have any op/po¬ sition. FOR OVER FIFTY YEARS Mrs. Winslow's Soothing Syrup has been used for fifty years by millions of mothers for their child ren while teething, with perfect success. It soothes the child, softens the gums, allays all pain, cures wind colic, and is the best remedy for Diarrhoea. It will relieve the poor little sufferer ma meddiately. Sold by druggist in every part of the world Twenty five cents a bottle. Be sure and ask for “Mis. Winslow's Socth Syrup and take no other kind. ^ r - J- J Langford and wife are both quite sick. We hope they will soon be well again. Col. John L. Travis, one of At lanta’s brightest young lawyers, is attending our court this week. You can get any kind of pho¬ tographs that are made by calling at R. B. Brooks* gallery. Prices low. After spending several months in Florida, Mr. Turner Swann has returned home. He looks quite well. Judge Candler has settled many suits this week, but none of them were as pretty as $5.00 suits at The Blue Front. Those wishing to buy any kind of musical instrument will do well to see C. A. Argo at the Banner office before buying. Sheriff Austin's announcement appears in this issue. Mr. Aus¬ tin has made a faithful officer in past years and the people can do no better than to re-elect him. Mrs. D. M. Almand and Mrs Jesse M. Almand are in attend¬ ance upon the Georgia Baptiist convention at Cedartown this week. The announcement of Mr. R.H. Cannon as a candidate for repre¬ sentative is in this issue. Mr. Cannon is a Democrat and will receive the hearty support of many friends. • Judge Candler is making a favorable impression with the peo pie of our county. We like the style with which he carries on the business of the court and he is worthy the honor of the office he bears. Mr. R. B. Brooks returned to Conyers last Monday evening and opened up his gallery again. He will move his family to this place in a week or so and live among us. We extend to them a hearty welcome. Cel. J. N. Hale’s card withdraw ing from the race as a candidate for the Legislature is in ihis issue His many friends will regret that the condition of his healtli will not allow him to continue in the race. The Democratic Executive Committee of this county have decided to mass everything in the primary on June 6th. We be lieve ibis to be wrong, as it gives to the manipulators a decided ad¬ vantage. This is not the Ban¬ ner's mistake. Should our people succeed in getting one cotton mill of good magnitude .located in our midst, this will lead to others, a and great amount of money thus expended in the county will benefit no par¬ ticular person but every citizen of the community. Mr. S. Baar, president of the Eden Park Cotton mills and the Douglasville Knitting Mills, and also of the new Telephone com¬ pany just forming in Atlanta, will speak at the courthouse to-night, beginning at 8 o’clock, on the subject of cotton mill 3 . Mr. Baar is well posted and will make it interesting for you if you will go out and hear him. Don't forget the meeting of onr progressive citizens at the court house to-night. If our people will only use half the enthusiasm in Gii 8 meeting that they have boen putting in politics, it will do a hundred times more good. Let’s quit quarreling and unite in building up the county. Mr. William Waldrop, of Ibis county, who had been very low for some time with cancer, died last Thursday night and was bur¬ ied next day a Smyrna. He had suffered a great deal and death was a welcome visitor to him. We sympathize with the bereaved wife and other relatives. Rev. P. P. Winn and sons ar¬ rived in Conyers Tuesday and moved into Mrs. Georgia Cowan's dwelling on Mill street. Mrs.Winn and daughter will follow Satur¬ day, after things have been put in order. This most excellent family will meet with a hearty welcome to our town. PEOPLE WITH HORIZON TAL HEADS. Level headed folks have since learned that it pays to at the best places. A man can’t succeed unless people generally believe in him—unless many peo p'e have found that he gave them a fair equivelaut for their money. The great dry goods house of Al¬ len Summers has been growing until now it is the largest of its kind in this section. It has grown because so many people found it to be the “best place’’—best in price, in quality, in treatment, in certainty.
