Genl. It’s an old saying that “The proof of the pudding is in the eating of it.” And it is because people have taken Simmons Liv¬ er Regulator that they know it to be a most excellent medicine and especially for the Spring and Fall when there is so mnch Maliria in _____ the air. Mr. W.T.Lee,of Pendle¬ ton, N.C, says. “I have used Sim mons Liver Regulator for twenty years, in place of calomel and quinine. Mr. J. J. Knight, of near Mc¬ Donough, is visiting relatives in our town to-day. Mr ' and Mrs T ' w W ' J T ' Kmgh ‘ “ QrA e visitnig Mr. S. D. Knight of onr tom . Local News Items. Read the annual report of the County Treasurer in this issue. Mrs. Langston, of Gainesville, was in our town this week selling the celebrated California medica¬ ted soap. Mrs. Langston sold the agency for the soap to Dr. W. H. Lee. By calling at Dr. W. H. Lee's drugstore in Conyers you can get a bottle of that remarkable reme¬ dy, Scott's Carbo-Digesiive Com¬ pound. If you are suffering from indigestion, try it. That cotton mill subject. Where is it? Have you dropped it? Let's agitate the subject and push it and have the mill if possi¬ ble. Such offers will not always strive with Conyers. Once with¬ drawn it may stand so forever. Capt. W. T. Huson’s announce¬ ment appears in this issue. No county in Georgia has a better qualified man for Clerk of Court than he, and his record as an offi¬ cer in past years is highly com¬ plimentary. No one doubts his re-election. Mrs. Jas. Hollingsworth, son and daughter, Leo and Miss Eu¬ nice, went to Hayston last Satur¬ day on a visit. Mrs. Hollings¬ worth and Leo returned home « Monday, but Miss Eunice will re¬ main several days with her sister at that place. We will give our readers a let ter from Miss Layout; Glenn in our next issue. It will be remem¬ bered that Miss Layona a mis¬ sionary from our town to Brazil, and her letters are always full of interesting news and are read with delight. Judge A. M. Helms’ announce¬ ment is in this issue. Judge Helms has made a good Ordinary during the short time he has held the office and the best interests of the county will not suffer under his excellent management. The peo pie will do well to re-e’ect him. If our people let the opportun¬ ity of getting the cotton mill go by, they will miss as many other great things in the future that will be of equally as great good to our county. We hardly be¬ lieve the people are so selfish as to scorn the liberal offer tendered them. Sallie Carr, who has given our •ourts no little trouble in the last two years, has been sentenced to DeKalb county chain gang for six months, or she must leave the county in ten days and never re¬ turn, with the distinct understand¬ ing that she must “go so»th“ Prof. A. D. Hammock closed his school at Oak Grove last Fri¬ day evening. He is now handling type in the Banner office and will soon be a full pledged typo, judging from his rapid progress. It is his ambition to enter the newspaper field and we are al¬ most sure he will succeed. Yesterday afternoon at 1 oeloek in Atlanta, Mr. N. B. Hudson and Miss Oma Daniel were united in marriage, Both these young people are well known to every body here and they have num¬ bers of friends here who bold them in high esteem and join the Banner in the warmest congratu¬ will lations. Their future home be in Rome, Ga. Last Tuesday morning the Con vers Bagging Co. opened up and begun business out at the Union Paper Mills plant, with Maj. E. H. Almand as manager. This bit of enterprise is heartily welcome to our county and, with its clear¬ headed business m anager at its helm, will move on to success. We are informed by a gentle¬ man who has a right to know that the cotton mills are almost as¬ sured. and that by next Saturday the amount required will have been subscribed. This is gratify¬ ing news and we hope to see more of our citizens actively engaged in helping this enterprise. Peas, peas, peas, peas, peas, peas. Corn, corn, corn, com, corn. The readers of this paper will be pleased to iearn that there is at least one dreaded disease that soience has been able to cure in all its stages and that is catarrh. Halls Catarrh Cure is the only positive cure now known to the medical fraternity. Catarrh being a constitutional disease, requires a constitutional treatment. Hall's Catarrh Cure is taken internally, acting direct upon the klood and mucous surfaces of the system, thereby distroying the foundation of the disease, and giving the pa¬ tient strength by building up the constitution and assisting nature in doing its work. The proprie¬ tors haye so much faith in its cur¬ ative powers, that they offer One Hundred Dollars for any case that it fails to cure. Send for Testimonials. Address. F. J.
