An excursion from Milledge ville to Atlanta passed through Conyers yesterday. Mrs. E. S. Everitt has been quite sick, but we are glad to say she is much better. H. P. & D. M. Almand & Co. have just received a nice lot of rocking chairs. Mr. and Mrs. Durden, of Wal¬ ton county, attend the burial of Mr. G. P. Sawyer Tuesday. Have you registered to vote in the school bond election? If not, do so at once and vote for bonds. No matter how far people get away from old Rockdale, they all come back when they die for bur ial. We are sorry to note that Mrs. Elizabeth Argo is again quite sick at the home of her son, Mr. E. J. Argo. There will be a picnic at 0 glesby’s bridge next Saturday. A big time is anticipated and all are invited to attend. Conyers has sent out into this business world more bright and successful business men than any town of its size in Georgia. There is 40 per cent difference in the value of old goods and new. However we do not charge the difference.—The Blue Front. Col. Jno. R. The welcome address to the Baptist convention at Chattanooga as published in this issue by the direction of Mr. D. M. Almand, was made by a Jew, who is mayor of that city. The many friends of Mr. T. M. Armistead in this county will be glad to know that he is Democratic nominee for re-electon to the office of Tax Receiver of Fulton county. His majority over IPs opponent was about two to one. A congregational meeting of the Couyers Presbytirian church will be held next Sabbath after the 11 o’clock sermon for the pur¬ pose of electing additional rul¬ ing elders in the church. The members of the church are spec ially urged to attend. The Conyers Public School Board met last Monday night and elected the following teachers for the next term of tbe public schools: Prof. S. P. Orr, of Winder; Piof Pitner, of Harmony Grove; Miss Stafford, of Fairburn; Miss Min¬ nie Smith, of Rockdale, and Miss Linda Holder, of Almon. Til ley was honored with the gold medal, offered for the best essay written by the Sophmore class, of Emory College. John is one of Conyers’ brightest young men and his course in college, from the beginning, has been one that his parents and friends should feel proud of. Mr. Wallace P Reed and wife, of Atlanta, have engaged board from Mrs- E. McKnight, of this place, and Will spend the summer months in our town. The readers of the Atlanta Constitution are all familiar with Mr. Reed’s name, and he is one of the most popular men on the Constitutien’s staff We are glad to have them with us. Mr. Ed Webb, of Atlanta, who been doing the inside paint¬ ing on Mr. Jno. H. Almand’s res¬ idence has finished, and those who have seen it pronounce it the most artistically designed piece of work they ever saw done with a paint brush. He now has other work here and will doubtless get to do a considerable amount of painting before he goes away. Rev. R. W. Boyd preached on our streets last Saturday aft r noou and night and Sunday after¬ noon, Rev.
