Helms, Otis Adair, Frank Mc¬ Calla, Tom and Henry Austin, Rob Gaiiey, Mike Hudson, Joe Norman, Luther Cain and others were all seen at an Atlanta diu ning table last Sunday. Flour and meat are both up this week. Dr. Lewis A. Lee has recently purchased from large northern and western houses an immense stock of fine Christmas goods to be shipped about the middle of November. McCalla left Conyers Tuesday morning for EastoD, Pa , where he goes to visit the big sboQ house of The C. M. Ilapgood Shoe Co., for w hom he is travel¬ ing. Mr. McCalla is one of the best traveling men in this coun¬ try and enjoys a hue trade all ovex this state, and there is not a more clever, whole hearted man to be found anywhere than Tom McCalla. Clifton's entertain¬ ments for the past t wo weeks have been highly instructive as well as a source of much pleasure to our people. Last Thursday evening he gave an interesting lecture on physiology, illustrating as he talk¬ ed with stereoscopic views on a large canvass. Then followed a trip through India. On Monday evening be gave some line pict¬ ures of Egypt, her pyramids, en¬ tombed cities, and muuy other objects of interest, which were highly entertaining and exceed¬ ingly instructive LITTLE ELLA McKNIGHT. Little Ella, seven year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. N. McKnight, after a very short ill¬ ness with membranous croup,died on laBt Thursday evening at ahout six o’clock. She was a remarka¬ bly bright little girl and was a favorite with all who knew her. Though very young, she was a regular scholar of the Presbyte¬ rian Sabbath school and could say the Ten Commandments, word for word, without the slightest bobble. The funeral services occurred at the Presbyterian church Fri¬ day afternoon, conducted by Revs Winn and JJuillian, after which the remains were buried in Roek dalo cemetery.
