Miss Mattie Elder has taken up
a school at the Gailey Academy,
near Pine Log bridge. Miss
Mattie is an excellent young lady
and will make a good teacher.
All the inmates of the pauper
farm are sic k, except one old ne¬
gro, and at this writing it is be¬
lieved that “Uncle” Levi Jarrell
cannot survive many more days.
