The Bohemians played at Al
mand's Ha ! l on last Saturday
night and again on Monday night.
The Monday night performance is
said to have been the best ever
in Conyers. Some of our people
didn’t like the “tights’* and
wouldn’t go out, but the plays on
both nights were good.
A Sunday school was organ¬
ized at Fairview, near Hon. A. J.
Smith's, last Sunday afternoon
with about 35 scholars. Mr. E. J.
Argo was made superintendent
and Mr. John McDaniel secreta¬
ry. The people of that communi¬
ty are very much in earnest and
the school is bound to be a suc¬
cess.

Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Almand will
move into the house with Mr.
Almand's parents Saturday. Mr.
and Mrs. Almand have been stay¬
ing at the home of Col. Peek for
three weeks and Mr. Ed thinks
he can enjoy his morning nap af¬
ter coming back to town, He
says ho has to rise early where he
has been staying.
Next Saturday week the Rock¬
dale Sunday School Association
will meet at Smyrna. Hon. G. R.
Glenn, State School Commission¬
er, will be present and deliver an
address. There is not a more
unique and interesting speaker in
the state than Mr. Glenn, and all
who attend the Association will
hear something good.

On last Sunday afternoon Mr.
Turner Swann, of Conyers, and
Miss Ida Edward’s, daughter of
Mr. W. F. Edwards of Newton
county, were united in marriage.
It was a run-away affair and is
said to have been somewhat ex¬
citing after the father of the
young lady began to chase the
run-aways. The young people
have lots of friends who wish
them well.

A PREACHER’S DIARY.
The Atlanta Journal, of last
Saturday, published the following
from the diary of Rev. B., D.
Ragsdale, pastor of the Baptist
church at Conyers and secretary
of the Georgia State Baptist con
vention:
“After closing up the work of
the convention in Gainesville, Dr.
Ragsdale came to Atlanta and
spent some time at the Franklin
printing office, reading proof
sheets of the minutes. From there
he went out to the Atlanta Bap¬
tist Seminary, heard scholars
reading Greek and German and
gaye some lessons in theology.
Sunday he spent in Griffin, ^ preach¬ the
ing morning and evening in
Baptist church, the pastor being
sick. From there he went to Mer¬
cer, giving lessons to
some of the students. From Ma
con he went to Milledgeville,where :
