THE CALVINISTIC DOCTRINE (communicated.) Editor Banner: —I think it very foolish for men and women to engage in discussing the decrees of the great “I am” in the spirit of controversy we use in these lat¬ er days. God’s holy word, if worth anything, is worth everything. On it hinges the destiny of this vast universe, and most of all the eternal destiny of men and wo¬ men. God made men and women for His own glory, not to enjoy our fleshly lust. I am often made sick by hear¬ ing men ignorant of the bible canting on God’s laws and decrees that does not agree with their fee¬ ble notions of creeds, Because some man differs with them on baptism, free grace, foreordina¬ tion, or some other doctrine, the poor, frail man unchristianizes them. In John 0: 04—65 we find the apostle John wanting to do the same thing. Some ask if you believe in free agency, why don’t you get relig¬ ion right now?—you act foolish to put it off. Others say if you believe in foreordination, what do you try to do good works for? Sim¬ ply because God has told me to do good unto all men, and it is none of my business to ask why. Some say if I believed the Calvin istic doctrine, I would rob, steal, kill, or do anything I wanted to do. Such men no not of God. They would kill, rob and steal if they were not in fear of man’s laws. To these people I want to give a few quotations and refer (Continued on last page.) W. A. McLarty & Son, Dime Uox, Tex., say: “We want some more of Ramon's Pepsin Chill Tonic, as it is the best we ever handled.
