The city council has di¬ rected that a book be opened by the city clerk for the pur¬ pose of receiving the tax re¬ turns of the citizens of the town. The returns will not be taken from the county tax receivers books this year as heretofore, but each and every tax payer will be re¬ quired to come to the office of the city clerk and give in his or her tax.
