The recent rains have done con¬ siderable damage to our streets and the city council would act very wise in doubling the working force and repair them at once. Rev, I. G. Walker will deliver a special sermon to the local Knights of Pythias at the Baptist church next Sunday at eleven 'o’clock. Everybody is cordially invited l attend. The remains of Mr. J. T. Mad¬ dox, who was killed in the wreci near McDonough last Saturday night, were brought to Conyers last Monday and were • intered in the family hurrying ground at Smyrna Camp Ground. HEAVY RAIN FALL. -The rains still continues in this section and great damage to crops and fruit has be n caused. The heaviest rain fall that has occured here in years fell last Sat urday night, doing great damage, the Streams have all been greatly swolen aad some of our biidges have been washed away. The wreck of a passenger train on the Soutnern railway last Sat¬ urday night was the worst railroad accident that has ever occured in our State.
