C* -mwroN. Ga., Dec. 14.18*5. Rev. ,J. M. Brittinn preached a fine sermon at the First Baptist rlma'li Sunday last. At that time closed Id- pastoral care of the church. 'Ho has been a Zealous and earnest, pastor of the church for 14 years. At the close of the meeting Mr. Briitian asked all wlio had wel coined bin) as their pastor at the outset to stand up. A goodly num tier arose to.their feet. He also asked all who had been baptized in to the (fh’urch by him to stand up. In -response to this request'about 50 persons of n 11 ages sprang to their feet. “Shall we gather at the river, - ’ was sung and all the mem hers of the church and a« many of the congregation as could do so while the hymn was being sung bid the pastor an afiectiomite goodbye by a warm clasp of the hand. It was a sad time to many and the tear diffused faces told the story of drooping and sadden hearts. Tile Presbyterian Sunday school decides tomorrow what amusement it will have for Christinas. At the same time the First Baptist school will also decide whether or not it will have a Christmas tree. Col. Allen D.
