AN OBITUARY.
Salem Baptist church, Rockdale
county, Ga., has been called to mourn
the loss of oae of its ornaments and
most constant members, sister Tinie
Morris, wife of Air. Willie Morris.
Sister Morris was bom Sept. 13,
1872, in W altou county, Ga, and was
married to Mr. Morris, Jan. 2, 1889;
united with the Salem Baptist church
by experience and baptism, July ,25,
1887. Five years she lived a faith
fu 1 , consistant and useful christaiu
life.
Not lost—bat only gone before,
could truthfully be said of this young
ehristion when her spirit took its
flight, from this earth to realms of
eternal bliss on July 21, 1892. The
death of one so gentle—so amiable,
has shed a pall of mourning over the
Church. Her vacant seat remiuds
us that death takes the young and
beautiful as well as the aged and in¬
firm, and admoneshes us to remem¬
ber tbe Creator in the days of our
youth.
^Resolved Eirst. That in the
death of sister Morris, who whs just
budding into young womanhood, our
church has lost one of its brightest
and most promising members, and
while we humbly acquiesce in the
wisdom o! a divine providence, we
can but feel grieved when we realize
that her sweet smiles and gentle voice
will greet us no more on earth for¬
ever.
Resolved Second. That as a
church we will cherish her beautiful
life and in loving reinemberance ded
icate a page of our record to her
memory.
Resolved Third. That we tender
this expression of our feelings with
our tenderest sprnpa hy to her sor¬
rowing husband aud relatlvss and
commend to them as a balm for their
wounded hearts, Him who has prom
i teed to Leal the broken in heart and
bind up all their wounds.
Resolved Fourth. That a copy
of these resolutions be sent to her
bereaved husband and that a copy be
furnisned the county papers with re¬
quest to pup’ish.
Adopted by ihe church iu Confer¬
ence, Aug. 27, 1892.
