Persistent Advertising.
The man who secures the best
results from advertising is the
persistent advertiser. The
spasmodic advertiser docs not
create that impression of sta¬
bility that is the result of con
slant putting before the public
your claims for its recognition
It is one of the most essential
features of every line of busi
ness in the world. If you arc
going to set up in it businEss to
serve the public you must let
the public know it.
There is no medium of adver
tisiug equal to the daily news
paper. The man who keens his
name and business in columns
of an attractive newspaper, day
in and clay out, is bound to re
alize large benefits therefrom.
The public has learned to ex -
pect it ana to virtualy demand
it. Watch the stores of men
who advertise and see for your¬
self.
This is a reading age. People
who have not time to think out
things for themselves leave oth
ers to find it our for them, and
when they want information on
some line foreign to their ordi¬
nary work, they turn to the
newspapers, When they want
to find where they can buy
what they want cheapest, they
turn to the advertising columns
of the newspaper, Persistent
advertising is the keynote to
success the world over —Rome
Tribune.
We may add t,<» the Tribune’s
remarks that in the absence of
a daily paper the next best
thing is a weekly paper, and
the whole truth of the matter
applies to a small town as much
60 as a large city. It is demon¬
strated daily, all over this coun¬
try, that the man who advertises
judiciously and persistetly ,is the
man who gets their finally.
Fifteen hundred additions
will be made to the population
of the new town of Fitzgerald
this week.-—Ex.
A Farmer near Oglethorpe
made last fall a barrel of good
quality brown sugar from rib¬
bon cane. Ho is one of the
kind who believes in living at
homo.—Ex.
A curious find was recently
made by Mr. J. B. Plank, a
black-smith in Augusta. A
liorso was brought there to have
a shoo put on. When the
smith lifted up the horses’ foot
a half dollar was found wedged
in the frog of tho foot. The
money had evidently been there
some two or three days.—Ex.
The number of mother-in
laws have considerably increas¬
ed within the past few months
in this state.
A new farm is to be purchased
near Athens for the Georgia
college of Agriculture and me¬
chanical arts.
Dahlouega Nugget: While
out prospecting one day last
week a miner, several miles
from town, found a piece of
float ore very rich in gold. The
rock was fairly hung together
with the golden metal. It was
estimated to be worth -1100.
The rock was sent to the assay
office at Charlotte.
1 he story runs that, during
a war between the baekwooods
settlers of Notth America and
the natives, a Quaker feasted
the enemy and placed a white
feather over the door of his
house as the sign of amity
.
The token was respected.
Hence the phrase, “Showing
the white feather," which has
com • to meau cowrrdice.
You say people don’t read ad¬
vertisements? How is it you
