About five thousand bundles of fodder, several hundred bushels of corn, peas 1 oats: etc, were consumed. We understand that Mr. Smith carried insurance or this property to the amount of $200. .10. This was probably the work of an incendiary, and suspiefan, we are told, points to a colored man in the community. Mr. J. Walker Almand has been peddling on various produce in Atlanta for several months past, and barring a little inconvenience to his business during the small¬ pox epidemic he had no trouble until this week. Conyers furnishes a number of as good traveling men as goes out from Atlanta. They are not only splendid salesmen but clever gen¬ tlemen as well, and their friends are legion. Mr. John Tilley, of Oxford, spent Sunday and Monday with parents here - John is making a nice record in school. If you are not a reader of the Weekly you are behind the times. You are in the band wagon -when you place your name on our list. True, we have been haring “gardening weather,” but ve wouldn’t advise our friends to expend too much time on these valued spots of earth just yet. Miss Fleta Simpkins came home last Saturday in order to attepd the dedication service Sunday. She returned to her school duties, at LaGrauge. Tuesday■ In this neck cf the woods it is the opinion that the platform upon which Allen 1). Candler will make his race for Governor will suit not only the farmers of Georgia but a majority of the voters of the State, That was a very thoughtless or indifferent individual who tied his mule to one of the young shade trees at the Bapt¬ ist church Monday night. The animal gnawed the tree fear¬ fully and it will very likely die. It is hoped that the act may not be repeated. Tkc fac- —^ is r-HEiJa ca cigaafdre ZL ever 7 Cf % wrapper.
