Mr. Frank Bryan who has been
stopping at an infirmary in Atlan
ta for several weeks, came to Con
vers Thursday and went out to his
home in the country Friday. Ii
is hoped by his many friends that
his condition' has been improved
by his stay at the sanitarium.
Mr. Andrew J. Smith had the mis¬
fortune to lose his barn and its con¬
tents by fire last Wednesday morn¬
ing about five o’clock. About five
thousand bundles of fodder, several
hundred bushels of corn, peas 1 oats:
etc,were consumed. We understand
that Mr. Smith carried insurance or
this property to the amount of $200.
.10. This was probably the work of an
incendiary, and suspiefan, we are
told, points to a colored man in the
community.
Mr. J. Walker Almand has been
peddling on various produce in
Atlanta for several months past,
and barring a little inconvenience
to his business during the small¬
pox epidemic he had no trouble
until this week. He carried a
load to Atlanta and sold it out a
few days ago, and when lie return¬
ed to the wagon yard his horse
was missing. At last accounts the
animal had not been found.
Elder William Wood, D. V., will
go for a trip to England, leaving
New York by tiie Steamer Luconia
on February 12th, This trip will lie
of about three months duration. As
is well known Elder Wood has been
in bad health for the pastyearand his
physician, Dr. <’. H. Turner, recom¬
mends this trip across the water.
He will leave Conyers about the 9th
or 10th of February, The Weekly'
joins the many friends of Elder
Wood in wishing for him a pleas¬
ant journey and safe return with the
complete restoration of his health.

Death.
. Little Henry Albert Turner,
son of Mr. and Mrs. H. A. Turner,
of this county, died last Wednes¬
day morning of congestion of the
brain. He 1 ived only about twelve
hours after .he was stricken. He
was 18 months old.
The remains were enterred at the
McClung cemetery on Thursday.

splendid salesmen but clever gen¬
tlemen as well, and their friends
are legion.
Mr. Tom Bryans, with the II.
Y. McCord Co., wholesale grocers,
by his straightforward dealing,
lias secured a trade that his house
values highly and he himself ap¬
preciates in the fullest measure.
Mr. T. E. Elliott is also with
the H. Y. McCord Co. and travels
all over the mountains of North
Georgia every two weeks, He
knows all the paths up in that
country and sells groceries right
and left. He is a clever gentle¬
man and a fine salesman.
Mr. M. C. Summers, a member
of the H. Y. McCord Co., is on
the road also, and is one of the
very best. His territory extends
along the Georgia road and he
■looks after his trade in a manner
that pleases his customers and
keeps the business of his firm on
the increase always.
Walter Wood travels for the
firm of Langston & Woodson and
is a valuable man to the firm.
He hust les early and late and ends
each week with a hope to do more
as the days and weeks pass by.
Mike Hudson hasn't been trav¬
eling a great while but he shows
striking evidences of ability and
i# giving satisfaction to his house,
He is a clever young man and de¬
serves success.
