thought, the court will not confirm

In their frenzied condemnation of
the Sum Holt lynching, northern ed

crime that caused it. Prejudice a
gninst the south seems to have been

The whole secret of success is con¬
tained within this compass of a- few
plain words writes Halford Fyke, in
the New Y’rk Commercial Advertiser
In starting out in life, put instanly
aside all immediate thought of your
own dignity and vour own superior¬
ity . of your own exceptionable gifts
and of the brilliant possibilities
which you think exists within you.
You may be just as superior as you
tliiiiK you arc. and even
more brilliant than you believe your¬
self to be; but no one else is going
know it until you have do.ie
tiling to make this evident.

It is said that President McKinley
is seriously considering the advisa¬

Congress to meet in October. Public
questions' and the retirement of
Speaker Reed makes it necessary,
thinks the President.
A dead negro was found hanging to
a barbed wire fence about two miles
from Jonesboro yesterday. The ap¬

the negro had been dead for several
days. He probably ran into the
fence about the time Sam Holt fell in.

What of Col. Berner now? He was

people to smile upon the man who
finally succeeded in planting a Geor¬

eligibility to membership as is
thrown around tin's organization, our
