It seems that an effort was made
by some enterprising newspaper re¬
porter to have it appear that Gen.
Wheeler was “snubbed” at the
Charleston re-union. Gen. Wheeler
lias promptly and vigorously denied
the report and says that ho received
most courteous attention at the re¬
union.
Tho IT. S. court has recently hand¬
ed down an opinion to the effect that
poultry running at large is wild game,
and the owners of property on which
chickens may trespass have a legal
right to kill them. This is worth
making a note of now that gardens
are in full blast.—Ex. Under this
opinion it will be a little hard to con¬
vict, a fellow of chicken stealing.
It has been published in several
papers, The Weekly among otlmrs,
that Congressman Livingston had
gone to Canada on business connect¬
ed with his duties as a member of
the Industrial Commission. This is
an error. Mr. Livingston hasn’t been
In Canada at nil. His son, Mr. Kobt.
Livingston, is in Canada and will be
there for several months.

Will Lucns, col., the supposed
murderer of Mr. Davis, of DeKnlb
caunt.v, has been arrested, and is
now confined in the Fulton county
jail. He denies his guilt and while
it is generally believed that he is the
black-hearted assassinof the fanner,
it may prove difficult to fasten the
crime upon him. It may ho of inter¬
est to our readers to know that this
negro worked in Sheffield last year
and is well known in that district.

it to his parents and friends.
Mrs. W F McDaniel and daughter,
Miss Clyde, visited in Lithonia Mon¬
day.

was up Sunday hauling his best girl.
