DR. KING WALLY DEAD.
Tassed Awny Suddenly at Saratoga
From Apoplexy.
An Associated Press dispatch announces
the death of Dr. King Wylly of this city,
at Saratoga Sunday night, from apo
plexy. Dr. Wylly had only been at Sara
toga a few days, having gene there for
his health accompanied by Mrs. Wylly.
News of his decease was received by rel
atives here late Sunday night.
Dr. Wylly was a native of Savannah,
and was well known here. He was the
eldest living son of Mr. George W. Wylly,
Sr., cf Isle of Hope. His brothers, who are
all well known here, are Messrs. Gecrge
W.. Jr., Fred C.. and Albert Wylly of
Savannah, and Martin D. AVylly of New
York. A sister. Miss Nona A. Wylly, re
sides at Isle of Hope.
As the chief surgeon of the Plant Sys
tem Hospital and Relief Department,
which position he had filled since the for.
matlou of the department, in the organ
isation of which he was. largely
Instrumental. Dr. Wylly was very
well known throughout Georgia and
Florida. After being placed at
the head of this department, Dr. Wylly
removed to Savannah. Previous to this
he had spent but little time since reach
ing his majority, In his native cit>.
In 1863. ol 16 years of age. Dr. Wylly
enlisted In the Georgia Cavalry, in a com
pany commanded by a relative, Capl It.
H. Wylly. now of this city. After a shor;
service as a trooper he was detached to
the signal corps by Capt. Wylly, in which
capacity he served until the close of the
war After the war Dr. Wylly entered
the University of Virginia and gradun'od
as a surgeon. Shortly after graduating
he decided io complete his sludles in Eu
rope and spent some time in the famous
hospitals In the large cities of the con
tinent. He was in Polls at the beginning
of the Franco-German war and promptly
offered his services to the French. He was
given an appointment ds surgeon and did
such good work that he was decorated
with a medal at the close of the war.
Returning to this country Dr. Wylly lo
cated first in New York and afterwords In
Atlanta, but In 1876 moved to Florida,
where he resided about twenty years.
He was active In public matters In Ills
adopted stale and was a member of the
first constitutional convention of Florida.
It was while there that he became associa
ted with the PlhnlSystem and organized Its
first hospital at Sanford. This was follow
ed, by other work of this kind and later
when the hospital and relief deportment
was organized for the entire system he
was placed at <he head of It.
The deceased leaves no children. His
widow was a Mrs. Louise of
Buffalo. N. Y., whom he met at her win
ter home, at Kissimmee, Fla. The body
will leave Saratoga this morning. The
funeral will probably lake place to-mor
row morning, but this will be determined
to-day. The Interment will be in the
family vault In Laurel Grove. Dr. Wyl
ly was a member of Solomon's Lodge of
Masons and the Knights Templar, and
these organizations will doubtless attend
the funeral.

At the meeting of Solomon’s
of Masons, hy a unanimous vote, the
thanks of the lodge were tendered to the
ladies who had assisted at its booth at
the recent Masonic Fair, and the secre
tary, Mr. J. R. Cain, was instructed to
notify the ladies of the resolution through
