The argument* for the defense were
made by Mrtwr* It M La-sler and Shelby
Myrlck and for the state by Solicitor Oen
, rid W. Osborne. Mr. Myrlck made
the concluding argument and W evidently
carried weight with the Jury. After be
ing out something like an hour the Jury
(dturned with a verdlcl of guilty of volun
tarv manslaughter nnd sentence was Im
posed by Judge Kalllsant In accordance
with this finding.

The outhouse# upon the place of Mr
r> B. Lester at Iteaulleu were burned
Saturday night. It Is not known that
such was the case, but Mr. lister and
family are Inclined to relieve that the
fire was due to Incendiary origin It
originated In the barn, where hay had
been stood the .lay before. It Is not he
llcvrd the lire dropped In the barn then
could have smouldered In the hay so long
without breaking out.
It was only by the hardest work that
Mr l-ester's hnndsothe summer home was
saved from destruction. The flames
scorched It. as they consum'd the bowl
ing alley that was almo*l adjoining, and
it was a matter of surprlae to those who
fought to save the house that they ef
fected their purpose Mr. Is ster. his son
