terday afternoon shortly alter 6 o'clock
on charge of being a suspicious character.
Parish was seen by Sergt. Davis leaving
a ten-eent ssore. and acting In a suspi
cious manner The attention or Patrol

hi placed him under arrest. As he did o.
Parish purposely dropped a ring. In a pal
pable endeavor to dispose of what hi
feared might prove damaging evidence
against him when he was searched The
ting was seen by the policeman, who se
cured It and also another that Parish was
wearing and which he had not had the
opportunity of throwing away.
