HOTEL S4JVABBI.B OVER.
Tampa Bay Hostelry Revert* to tlie
Realty Company.
Tampa, Fla., Dec. 12.—Mayor F. A.
Salomonson of Tampa, who was sup
posed to have purchased the Tampa
Bay Hotel, has relinquished all claims
to It. and the entire property has re
verted to its former owners, the Ocean
and Gulf Realty Company, of which
Frank Q. Brown is the controlling
spirit. .
In other words the money which Mr.
Salomonson paid to Mr. Brown, when
he purchased the property, reported to
be SIIO,OOO in cash, has been repaid to
Mr. Salomonson, and the latter has
surrendered all claims and turned the
property back to those from whom he
purchased it.
Frank Q. Brown, now in charge ot
the property, has placed W. D. Wig
gins in power as its custodian and
the hotel and grounds will be kept
closed, except on occasions of theatri
cal attractions at the Casino, when
the gates will be opened.
Coincident with these facts comes
the report that Mr. Brown is very de
sirious of having the property pur
chased by the Presbyterian Church
for college purposes, and it is assert
ed by Rev. J. G. Anderson that there
now seems to be no obstacle in the
way of its acquirement by the church
for that purpose.

WHOLE CLASS ttUIT.
Boys Are Indignant Because One
Was Expelled.
Roanoke, Va., Dec. 12.—A special to
the Times from Blacksburg, Va., says:
The junior class of the Virginia Poly
technic Institute, composed of 130 men,
resigned from the institute this after
noon. The cause of the action was the
alleged unjustifiable dismissal of one
of their members. The sophomore and
senior classes have also become in
volved, and it is very likely that they
also will resign within the next few r
davs.
The whole corns Is indignant at the
action of the faculty and serious re
sults are anticipated.

be chairman to consider and report
some suitable plan for the commemora
