Conyers courier. July 8, 1876, Image 1

William P. Reed and Samuel M. Shaver of the Rockdale Register left the publication in 1876 to found their own newspaper, the Conyers Courier. They published the first issue of the Courier on June 3, 1876 at a cheaper subscription than the Register. The paper came out every Saturday and was Democratic in politics. The Courier was briefly the only newspaper published in Conyers, Georgia, but ceased printing in 1878 due to the revival of the Conyers Examiner by Editor W. E. Harp.
