'The Churches of Christ Solute You." —ROMANS 16:16. THE SUPREMACY OF THE BIBLE Webster defines supremacy as “the state or quality of being supreme; highest authority; su¬ preme power." It is along these lines that we wish to talk with you about God’s word. We are told that the Bible leads the sales of all other books each year. Back of this there must be a reason. Since the Bible is supreme, let us turn to it to find out why. Turn with us to Mark 13;31. Here we have Jesus saying, “Heaven and earth shall pass away; but my words shall not acy of the Bible. Men, through pass." Thus we see the suprem- the ages, have tried to destroy the Bible. It seems as if every time one Was burned the ashes were the seeds of hundreds of others. Hear Peter on the en¬ during qualities of the word. “But the word of the Lord en- dureth forever." I Peter 1:25. To fight against the Bible is to fight against God. To be supreme, God’s word must be the highest authority to which we can go for matters Gospel of Christ, P. O. Box 15, Trenton, Georgia. We invite you to work with us at Trenton, Hooker, Sand Mountain and Glendale. GUNS! The- beloved Paul, in writing to Timothy, had this to say: “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profit¬ able for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness; that th6 man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.” (II Timothy 3:16, 17). There are no need for creeds, disciplines or confessions of faith if we accept God’s word as supreme. How convenient it is to have all this in one volume and within the reach of all. How simple to have this supreme standard to go by. If we hear a doctrine preached and we cannot find it in the Bible we must cast it aside. “Provo all things; hold fast to that which is good.” I Thess. 5: 21). To worship God according to man’s idea is to worship in vain. “But in vain do they wor¬ ship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.” (Matt. 15:9). Great men have always real¬ ized the greatness and suprema¬ cy of the Bible. Thomas Jeffer¬ HIGHLIGHTS OP THE NEW ENLISTMENT PROGRAM 1. Men lived by it and men have by and for it. God, himself, clared the superiority and premacy of his word when said, “For my thoughts are your thoughts neither are ways my ways, saith the for as the heavens are than the earth, so are my higher than your ways, and thoughts than your (Isaiah 55:8,9.). We plead that you accept Bible as supreme; tha.i yot Hv by it and it alone. Prove all things you practice and see if you can find a saith the Lord” for it. If can’t, why not cling to the Bible?
