YOUR BOOK AND MINE
By Nettie M. Fleming
Nineteen-forty-five is gone!
—yes, it is now history!—365
days—how did you spend them?
Each day of our life is like un¬
to a chapter in a book. The
things that each of us do and
say, yea, even our thoughts we
must account for. (Matt. 12:36-
37). Let’s review some of the
chapters in the book we wrote
last year:
Did I lend a helping hand to
my neighbor in time of need?
Did you?
Did I speak a few kind words
to someone who needed cheer¬
ing? Did you?
Did I say something, or act in
such a way that anyone could
point me out and say, “So that’s
the way a Chritian acts!” Did
you?
Did I spend as much time as
I could have in reading the Book
of Books; trying to learn how
to live closer to Him from whom
all blessings flow? Did you?
Did I remember to thank my
Heavenly Father for all the
blessing He was so kind as to
give me? Did you?
Was I worthy to receive all
those blessings? Were you?
During the year that is begin¬
ning, I want to make the chap¬
ters in my new book so full of
good things that I will not have
to look back with regret at the
close of another year. Don’t
you? We have 365 days to spend
in doing good, or else in doing
evil. How are you going to
spend yours? What kind of a
book are you writing? Let’s
make it the best one ever!
You are writing a Gospel, a
chapter each day,
By deeds that you do, by words
that you say;
Men read what you write,
whether faithless or true—
Say, what is the Gospel, accord¬
ing to you?

“GATHERING BUDS”
The death angel visited the
home of Mr. and Mrs. George
Davis last week and plucked
away a most precious and ten¬
der bud, little Virgil Dewayne
Davis. The Lord gave, and the
Lord hath taken away.
In heaven there will be no part-
in; no pain to bear;
No care-worn brow, no sigh, no
silvery hair;
No death to snatch our loved
ones from our side;
No angry waves, no sea, no
treacherous tide.
In heaven there’ll be no thirst,
no cry for bread;
No soul who knows not where to
lay his head;
No one to feel the winter’s chill¬
ing blast,
Bor there the piercing storms
will all be past.

MEDICINE FIGHTER?
When a restless child needs
a laxative, it upsets child and
mother to give bad-tasting
medicine. You don’t need to!
Triena is the laxative chil¬
dren don’t fight. It’s effec¬
tive, thorough, made with
famous senna — yet it tastes
good because it’s flavored
with pure prune juice. When
faulty elimination makes
your child irrita¬
ble and fretful,
remember the
quick relief
TRIENA
brings. Give
Triena. Cau¬
