ijss The Churches of Christ Salute You." —ROMANS 16:16 Why You Should Be a Member of the Church of Christ a vine institution, into which ev¬ ery soul in the world is invited by the Lord. It has been pur chased by His blood, and is the only blood-bought institution on earth. In it redeemed people have the hope of eternal life. Outside of it there is no hope at all. The church of the Lord is not a faction. It is not a denomina¬ tion. It is not a sect. It is the one religious institution that all of us can wholeheartedly sup¬ port. Nothing can be said against its Author, its Founda¬ tion, its organization, its begin¬ ning, its mission, its aim, its scope, its government, its meth¬ ods, its conditions of member¬ ship or its value both in this world and the world to come. When we consider that the word “church” simply means “called out,” and refers to the fact that its members have been separated from their sins and called out of the lost multitude of the unsaved, it is easy for us then to see that the church of our Lord is on a plan all its own. It cannot be reduced to a par¬ tisan level. Gospel of Christ, Post Office Box 15, Trenton, Georgia. Welcome to the Church of Christ at Trenton. Nothing can suffice, and nothing is needed. By the new birth members have become the ily of God, and the Father’s is the law of His obedient ren. They have all been ciled into one body by the cross; sanctified by the sacrifice Jesus; and comforted by the Holy Spirit. Theirs is the hope of trading the transient things of this age for the eternal joys of God’s everlasting home of the soul. The conditions of membership in this church are recorded in the New Testament because the New Testament is the law of Christ to govern the church of Christ. Jesus personally taught these conditions to His apostles: “Except ye believe that I am He, ye shall die in your sins.” John 8:24. Again: “Except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.” Luke 13:3. Yet again: “Go* 1 ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature; he that believeth and is baptized be saved; and he that be- not shall be damned.” j 16:16. FOR SALE THE J. B. The apostles were then by the Holy Spirit as taught these same terms of don to multitudes. Cheaper To Obey State Game Laws Than Pay Fines It is getting more and expensive to violate the and-fish laws in Georgia, cording to Fred Brewer, ant director of the State and Fish Commission. Fifteen had been ing, costing them $341. basket fishermen paid Three people hunted deer of season and paid $250. people were hunting doves a baited field and paid Twelve hunted doves out of sea¬ son and forfeited $575. In addition, many of the cases were violations which deplete our game and fish badly. “It isn’t just a 'question of breaking a law.
