Trenton 3 — TPM 6
Might seem one of the reasons
for this lose were the 7 Trenton
errors. Highlights were Stretch !
Scruggs home run; M. M. Stev- (
ens 3 hits for 4 trips to bat;
Two base hits were made by M. j
Tatum and Stevens. Bill Smed-
ley was playing fine all around
ball, pitching 6 2/3 innings (G.
Wheeler relieving him), getting
2 for 3 and making 1 of the
Trenton runs.

New Salem 19 — Trenton 9
This was a 10 inning game
played to an unusually large
assembly of fans. Rain stopped
the game for a while in the
fifth and the teams seemed to
be short of balls, the game hav¬
ing fro be stopped twice to hunt
for the last ball which had been
fouled out into the weeds. Tren¬
ton rooters, with the exception
of Bob Russell, were as usual
silent throughout the game but
New Salem really had some en¬
thusiastic fans behind their
team.
Trenton led 9—2 at the begin¬
ning of the ninth. Ed Kelly had
been pitching good ball and the
team was right in there with
him. Floyd Brandon, started the
ninth and was relieved by Earl
Holmes, who was relieved by Ed
Carter, who was relieved by Jim
Geddie in the tenth inning. New
Salem ran in 7 runs in the 9th
to tie the score. In the 10th New
Salem ran in 11 runs while the
Trenton team seemed to just
stand there taking it until some¬
how there could be three outs.
Jim Geddie had gone in to pitch
for Trenton. He finally just
tossed on to Jim Morrison, who
had caught the entire game, and
the ball was finally caught by
the left fielder to make the 3rd
out.
Hafold (Prag) Moore who re¬
lieved H. V. Moore in the 5th,
did a good job of pitching for
New Salem. We had some good
backing in this game Sunday.

Davis 11 — Rising Fawn 3
Looks like things were pretty
much messed up for Davis and
Rising Fawn this past Sunday as
both Rising Fawn games were
scheduled at home. The little
team had to give up the field in
the third inning. That dosen’t
seem fair to the boys and we
don’t think that should be called
a fofeit of a game either.
