To mention a few of fU e ones that have been noticed recently. Mrs. A. A.MsMahan and her boys at Rising Fawn have been busy for some time getting win¬ ter cover and grazing crops in the ground. They are preparing a good seed bed, applying lime phosphate and potash to most all of their winter crops. Benton Massey on Lookout Mountain is getting ready to sow most of his cultivated land in winter cover and grazing crops. He has been fallowing his 3 acres on which crimson clover was turned under this summer and is about ready for applying his fertilizers and seeding alfal¬ fa. He also is preparing 12 acres for ladino clover and fescue that he will seed shortly to increase his pasture to about 27 acres of good grass and clover for hogs and cattle. Mark Scruggs in Head River sowed vetch and rye grass in his corn some time ago for winter grazing and intends to seed crimsom clover in his sericea le- pedeza fhis fall for grazing. Mr. Scruggs has pastured sericea this year for his first time and is planning to pasture more of it next year. J. H. Long, on Sand Mount¬ ain, is getting ready to seed pasture and winter cover crops this fall. Most of his cotton fol¬ lowed vetch and is sure really good cotton. R. G. Peterson, just over the ,iine, on Sand Mountain plans to seed reseeding crimson clover in | his sericea pasture this fall and is getting set to sow a lot of his cultivated land in winter cover crops. Those mentioned above are only a few of the ones that be¬ lieve in “Green Gold” or 1 June Grazing in January.” ^009^0000000000^100 30000 SIDE GLANCES ■oocsoooooooooo co I’m glad I am not the over everybody, but I would to suggest some In regard to our State ; way’s upkeep. I get this the grape vine that the our highway south of has not been fixed is that wrecker service is with Papa. I hope this is true for if someone gets and that is what is going happen if the road is not I would hate for anyone to hurt when the road is neglected in order to collect wrecker fee. I do know that the state some small tractors machines, which will do better work than a truck ing a horse drawn machine. i Also if the time and ! spent needlessly on No. messing with the ditches, been spent on the Sand tain road, the road would been in much better shape. I do not see any signs Dade County (I do in 'counties in Georgia) while School Buses are or unloading. School No signs “goad is slick when ,, No rocks , ,. being thrown ,, , anyone, but Dade County needs more school buses. Also we need a Vocational Agricultural I have heard that the two Veteran teachers would do the work if material could be pro¬ vided. Why not use the old buildiag the army gave? Glad to see two more school rooms going up at Dade High.
