Mr. H. F. Allison has hurt
his bark and Is not able to get
to his office. Mr. Ernest Stewart
is keeping it open for him.
Seems like the weather is news
this week. Last week end rain
and more rain until the moun¬
tain sloughs looked like spring
time with all the water running
through them. Monday night
was cold but overcast. Tuesday
night, with its almost full moon
was clear and crisp and brought
us our first real frost. Let us
hope this frost will cut short
the life of some of the germs
as we are having too much sick¬
ness in the county.
We are running very full of
ads this week. Better read them
as there’s a lot of worthwhile
information In them for you-
such as the opening of a new
dime store on Market St. and
the ads of the other Main and
Market St. Merchants which
should be of benefit to us. Re¬
presentative Lanham is telling
us of his visit to Dade to mem

Rain made the new dirt on
the Sand Mountain road very
treacherous but tho cars slipped
around it stayed passable and
