The Hospital Authority of Walker, Dade and Catoosa Counties is having a meeting on September 21 at Fort Ogle¬ thorpe The Board of Trustees, the governing authorities of these three counties and other key people will attend this meet¬ ing. The Board has stated that any citizen interested in the af¬ fairs of the Hospital Authority has a right to appear at the meeting and be heard. The boys, most cf whom saw some action last y^ar, know how it feels to go in o that first game and they know thdy have the advantage over the beginners from across the mountain. Coach Dave Woodall said to¬ day that the game is net in the bag until the final play, but that he thought the local boys had a good chance. Under a new ruling, eligibility requirements for farm training ^ ^ expanded t3 include feedi breeding and m an- aging of lives’ock, as well „, o1 , as poultry and other specialized farming commonly followed in thi area, according to Vaux Owen, VA’s Georgia Regional Manager. For the past few months, he only veterans admitted to the “learn-while-you-farm’! train¬ ing program were these whose farms included tilling of the soil as a basic activity. These vete¬ rans, of course, continue to be eligible for the training. Also, a veteran may enroll in the GI Bill program if his farm includes a combination of bo h types of activities. Examples cf such establish¬ ments are dairy processing plants, grain elevators, packing plants, hatcheries, stock yards, flori t shops and the like. Establishments of this nature desiring to train veterans may qualify under the on-the-job training provisions of the GI Bill, VA said.
