flame begin to fan out.
Some fires are deliberately
and maliciously set and fall in;
the “incediary” class. After put- 1
tine ting these these fires tires out out it it is is the the
task of your County Forest Pro-
tection Unit to find the guilty
party. To help us in the task
of prosecution of willful! vio-
lators, we now have the services
of the Forestry Commission’s
District Fire T Investigator, Mr.
Calhoun.
With those who tI , are burning
brush pastures, new ground, or
doing control burnnig, we ask
that they notify us and their
adjoining landowners 24 hours
in advance. In that way, ’ we can
give advice , . on the ... control . , . bum- „ ,
ing and also be alerted in case
it gets out of hand. The burning
of sage and burning of brush
and charing of fences is one of
Dade’s worst offenders.
We ask all hunters to drown
their campfires, and to scrape
away all inflammable material
from a spot six feet in diameter
before building their fire. The
fire should be built in a hole
dug in the middle of that area,
and it should never be built
against trees! ogs, or brush.

careless smokers.
