Rising Fawn overcame a 3 to
1 lead that Dade County held
until the seventh inning.
This was one of the best
pitched games of the season, I
think, and according to all
other reports I’ve heard. If
here had been good backing
behind Pinkney Williams and
Ed McClendon the score at the
end of the game would have
been 1-0 or 0-0 with some er¬
rors on both sides which al¬
lowed about 8 to 9 unearned
runs to come in.
We can’t put the blame on
the pitchers in this game.
Smith relieved McClendon in
the seventh inning for Dade
County and pitched 2 innings
with no runs. We fans didn’t
agree with manager J. B. Ged-
die in pulling Ed when it was
the errors of some of the other
players.
