Trenton, Ga. Seems like we should have a lot of news this week, being as it is so soon after Thanksgiv¬ ing and maybe there is, only I haven’t heard it. One thing I do know, how¬ ever, a Ibt of hogs died around here last week along with a few turkeys. I hear J. W. Moore and Guy Hughes both won a nice turkey where they work. I believe J. W. won his by target shooting. I think they are going to have another “turkey shoot” Christ- mas. If so, I’m wondering if it wouldn’t be cheaper for him to buy one than all the cartridges I’ll bet he uses between now •and then practicing. Several of the folks from Slygo attended the Thanksgiv¬ ing service at Hooker last Wed¬ nesday night. After the pro¬ gram our pastor, Rev. Word, brought an inspiring message on how much we of America have to be thankful for. Mr. and Mrs. Martin Street were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Street for Thanksgiv¬ ing Day. I think they had to call in several of the folks to help eat a big turkey they had. Our sick list is much shorter this week I’m glad to report. Mrs. Martin S.reet is improv¬ ing nicely. So is Mr. John Pat- ters:n and Mrs. Edgar Moore. I guess Mrs. Moore had too many other things going on at her house over the week end to stay sick with Helen up and marrying and leaving and all. L hear it was kind of a sur¬ prise to a lot of people. We kept seeing a lot cf cars whiz by late Friday afternoon and later come to find out she was hav¬ ing a wedding and the young couple had already left. Seems as though they are going to live in S. C. I also heard Miss Nell Purcell and her sister, Jeanne, from Berry College, got to be there for the wedding. I know Nell wou ^ b have like to stayed a few ba y s anb visited with friends but y° u knOW how Berr y ls about their leaves, and theirs w 0 ' 13 onl y a one da y l eave - B y the wa Y Bil1 is Nell’s brother in case y° u haven’t guesed it. , My, my, I just know there ; was a lot of visiting over the holidays but no one has told me wb o wen t to see who so I this is all I have for this time. Maybe Isham and Ignatz will be sending in some too. know I think they they did did “pi well before, to just be two old Miss Hampton Wed To George Sullivan Miss Ollie Hampton, daughter of Mrs. Lorene Hampton, of Trenton, became the bride of George Sullivan, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cade Sullivan, in a cere¬ mony performed November 17 in Rossville, with Justice of the Peace Herman Bowman of¬ ficiating.
