ARCH FARRAR I hereby announce my candidacy for the office of Soli¬ citor General of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit I earnestly ask your support at the polls on May 14 ,1952 for this Job. married . , and , , have two . I am thirty years of age, I am little boys, one 2 Vs years and one 9 months. I live in Sum¬ merville, Georgia, where I was born. I have practiced law In Summerville since being admitted to the Bar. I served with the Army in the 69th Infantry Division during World War II, and served two years overseas in combat with a rifle company and in the occupation of Germany. During the past two years I have served in the Georgia State Senate representing the 42nd Senatorial District. Since entering the practice of law I have qualified my¬ self to hold the office of Solicitor General by trying many cases both civil and criminal, and being engaged in a gen¬ eral 'law practice. I have always fair attempted and to present and my cases to the court and jury in a open manner when elected your Solicitor I shall continue to present the State’s cases without partiality to any one. In my past political life I have not asked for or been supported by political factions but I took my candidacy to the people. I shall not accept in this race help from those persons or groups which would bind me to an 'obligation which I can not fulfill. Waste in our courts of time and taxpayer's money is a terrible wrong to the people. My cases will be prepared be¬ fore I come in the courtroom and the juries of the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit will not be kept waiting because of the Solicitor’s office. I am unalterably opposed to the sale, legal or illegal, of beer, wine, whiskey or any other alcoholic beverages and will fight to stamp it out. When I am elected your Solicitor I pledge the follow¬ ing as my platform: 1. Co-operation with Law enforcement officers in stamping out “bootlegging.” 2. Co-operation with the Judges in running our courts as efficiently as possible. 3. Doing my part to make the job of Jury duty as less burdensome as possible. 4. Dollar for dollar value for all State’s work in the Courts. 5. See that time and tax money is not wasted by try¬ ing borderline and spite cases. Hear Arch Farrar speak over radio station W G T A, Summerville, Georgia, 950 on your dial at 12:35 P. M. every Tuesday starting April 1, 1952. A COURT DOING MORE IN LESS TIME ON LESS MONEY.
