Dyer, this week He is pitching baseball for the Rocky Mount, N. C , team this summer. Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Ste¬ venson, from Jackson, Miss., have been visiting his brother Mr. W. O Stevenson and Mrs. Stevenson. Mr. and Mrs, Claude Harri¬ son spent Sunday at Lake Win- nepasaukah where they watch¬ ed parachutist jump from a plane into the lake. Mrs. E. G. Wright, Sr. has returned from a month’s visit with her daughter, Mrs M D. Holbrook, and her aunt, Mrs. Wynn Thomas. Sgt. and Mrs. Aaron S Brandon, are announcing the birth of a daughter at El Paso, Texas, where Sgt. Brandon is stationed. Mrs. Jeanette Barnett and children, and Mr. Aussie Baker all of Birmingham, were Sun¬ day visitors of Mr. and Mrs. J. E Morrson Mrs. Morrison and children accompanied them home for a visit. Mr. and Mrs. W. G. Morri¬ son, Jr and daughters have returned from Higdon, Ky.. where they were called by the illness and death of Mrs Mor¬ rison’s father, Mr. Henry Downing, who died May 25. Littlegreen, as Trus¬ tee, and S J Littlegreen, in¬ dividually, did execute a cer¬ tain Security Deed to Scott Construction Company of Tho- masville, Georgia, to secure an indebtedness of Seventy-five Hundred Dollars ($7,500.00), and WHEREAS, said Security Deed was recorded on August 25, 1947, in Book 34, folio 2945, of the Deed Records of Superior Court of Dade County, and spe¬ cial reference is made herein to the provisions of said deed and the powers therein con¬ tained. and WHEREAS, said Security Deed was on the 15th day of Novem¬ ber, 1951, transferred and as¬ signed to F L. Forester of Thomasville, Georgia, together with all rights and equities of the said Scott Construction Company, and WHEREAS, the following des¬ cribed property was conveyed in said Security Deed for the purpose of securing said loan: Situate, lying and being in the County of Dade and State of Georga. and more particu¬ larly described as follows: 5 acres of Lots of Land Nos. 53 and 54 in the 10th District and 4th Section of Dade County, Georgia, and being more parti¬ cularly described as follows: Beginning at a stone in the line between Lots of Land Nos. 53 and 54 at the northwest corner of James H. Trenton Georgia HD Council Meet To Attract Women Throughout State Approximately 500 Georgia farm women who are county leaders in home demonstration club work will gather in Athens June 9-13, for the annua lstate home demonstration council meeting. Three or four women in each county where home demon¬ stration clubs are organized will attend the week-long meeting which will be held on the Coordinate College campus of the University of Georgia, Miss Lurl.ne Collier, state home demenstraton agent, said this week Many of the delegates will be officers in county councils cr community home demon¬ stration clubs. More than 100 of the women are expected to participate in the annual state council dress revue which fea¬ tures outfits made at home and includes, in some instances, homemade hats, gloves and bags. Dresses to be modeled in the revue will be of four types: sports and casuals, dressy dresses, sack dresses and house dresses. Among the speakers sche¬ duled to appear on the pro¬ gram are Miss Mena Hogan, Extension Service field agent in home demonstration work 1 for the South, Washington ,D. C. ; Dr. Dow Kirkpatrick, pas¬ tor of the Athens First Meth¬ odist Church; and Mrs. Wilbur Timmerman, president of the state home demonstration council, Terrell County. ' While in Athens the home demonstration club members will elect council officers for the coming year, and will at¬ j tend a garden party at the home of Dr. O. C. Aderhold, president of the University of Georgia. The wagon was demolished and Jeffrey’s mule crippled in the accident. HOMECOMING AT HOUSTON I METHODIST HOME Sunday June 8, people from all parts of Southwest Virginia and East Tennessee will be on the campus of the Holston Methodist Home at Greene- ville, Tennessee, for the An¬ nuel Homecoming. The Holston Methodist Home was founded in 1895. During the years hundreds of boys and girls have made the Holston Methodist Home their home for a long or a short period of time. Within the past ten years 527 children have been ministered to by the Institu¬ tion. Her sons and daughters may be found in all walks of life and in all parts of the world. Many of them will re¬ turn to the campus Homecom¬ ing day. The more than eleven hun¬ dred Sunday Schools within the Holston Conference have been asked to send at least one delegated representative. The Sunday Morning Service will be held at Asbury Meth¬ odist Church, at 10:30. Rev Walter A Smith, Superinten¬ dent of the Home will deliver the annual message. After the service a picnic lunch, brought by the visitors, will be enjoyed. Refreshments will be supplied by the Home. Hooker Colored News Miss Virginia Bone left for her home in Guriy, Ala., after nine months of a very success¬ ful term at Hooker School. The commencement exercise was held at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with the Rev. Edd Angels delivering the ad¬ dress. The graduation class was beautifully dressed in white caps and gowns made by Mrs Lula D. Paris, principal at Hooker, who also furnished the music for the program. The school children marched in on ‘‘God of Our Father” led by the gradua¬ tion class. The girls in white dresses, the boys in suits. Every¬ thing was just beautiful. Mr. & Mrs. Porter and chil¬ dren, from LaFayette, Ga., vi- ited Mr. and Mrs. Murphy Pa:is and attended the com¬ mencement exercise. Others from Chattanooga were Mr. Lonie Roberts, Mrs. Floria Gus- ters, and a lot of others. The white people that attend¬ ed the exercise were Mr. and Mrs. Pennigrass and Mr. and Mrs Walter and fanlily.
